I've Owned Smith Ski Helmets, First Smith Bike Helmet.

Great fitting, great looking, confidence booster. I haven't taken a fall with the Mainline, but feel that it will keep me safe if that day comes.

Good Helmet But Noisy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the helmet a month or two ago. It is lightweight and keeps relatively cool for a full face helmet. It is good protection with downhill rating. The only problem with it is a lot of clicking noises it makes while you ride. It doesn't bother me too much but might drive some other people a little crazy.

Did It’s Job Well

Saved my wife’s face on a fall. This helmet did its job well and bought another one.

Great For Fast Downhill Runs

1 year of use later.. The mainline is fantastic when it's either below 60f or you are getting lots of air circulation on a fast downhill. As soon as your not moving fast enough on a day upwards of 75f you can't get this helmet off fast enough. The rattling issue is not an issue if you wear a sweat wicking cap under, which also improves general comfort. As far as crash protection, I took a huge spill bashing my noggin into rocks, the bike, and ground and the helmet held up amazing. It protected my skull from being split open and my face from being pulverized.
