Add MIPS® for increased safety during angled impacts, and you have our most advanced helmet design. Since all this protection is useless if you don’t want to wear it, we dialed up the comfort level with a microadjustable BOA® 360 Fit System that adapts to your whole head. A sweat-wicking, odor-fighting liner keeps you warm, while a front and rear adjustable 24-vent design lets you regulate airflow as needed.

Dual Vent Sliders Are A Design Flaw In The Cold

I purchased the Nexus because of its superb venting features, but after using it in cold (non-venting weather) conditions I discovered that when both vent sliders are in the forward position there is an uncovered opening at the back end of the forward slider that acts as a permanently open vent. I was not wearing anything under the helmet (just hair) and noticed that the upper part of my head was cold and experiencing a breeze. I'm very surprised that Smith's top of the line/most expensive helmet has this design flaw. I know the permanently open vent at the top of my head won't be a huge deal on many warmer days, but on cold days it's very disappointing. A well vented helmet made for skiing should perform equally well in the warm as well as the cold.

We got the Nexus for our 11 year old. We tried many helmets and he found the Nexus the most comfortable even though it is an “adult” helmet. The helmet has been worth the investment and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for the very best helmet for themselves or their kids.

Brighter Colours For Ski Helmets

Just wondering why all the ski helmets are in muted colours I’m a ski instructor and brighter colours would be nice so in bad viz day my students can see me

Extremely comfortable, looks great and the oval shape allowed me to size down from my normal XL needs and match up with the recommended measurements for once.

Zipper Closes On The Wrong Side

Zipper closes on the left hand side and not the right like in the picture. As a result I can't use my Cardo Outdoor headset.

I’m enjoying my Nexus so far. This helmet fits me better than other Smith helmets I’ve used. The buckle, sleek design and high confidence in safety make this a great buy.

Nexus Mips - Great Helmet!

Great helmet! The ventilation works well with the sliding system to open or close vents. The helmet is very comfortable while providing your head with more than adequate warmth. In addition, the ear sockets being headphone friendly is another “above and beyond” feature.

Great Helmet - Beat Out The Competition

I literally purchased and had shipped to my house 7 helmets before deciding on the Smith Nexus. I'm a methodical and OCD kind of guy. Passed on top helmets from POC, Glade, Atomic, etc. Nexus is low profile, warm, fits well with my goggles, looks cool, isn't too heavy - I could go on. The price is a little high, but worth it.
