I had a bad road bike crash recently. Was airlifted to a spinal facility with fractured vertebrae, ribs and a pneumo thorax. I am on the mend but my new Smith Network MIPS helmet did not survive. It did the job it was designed to do - protect my head. Well worth every cent.

It Might Of Saved My Life Or Concussion
I’ve always preferred Smith Helmets. I just recently had a bike accident on my road bike. I was too fast on a turn and crashed into the woods. I came out with a dented helmet and no concussion. I think MIPs helped to avoid the concussion

Not A Safe Helmet
I'm not very impressed with this helmet. My biggest concern is that the chin strap doesn't stay tight. It will loosen up over the course of about two hours. So, the chin strap is always loose. I don't feel like that would be very good in the case of an accident. The adjustment tabs on the side also come loose. Not as frequently as the chin strap, but they do tend to open themselves up every couple of days, which is very annoying. Also, the rear ratchet to tighten the helmet around the head is very clunky. By far, it is the most clunky of any helmet I've ever owned. The air flow is okay, not great. The slots in the helmet are quite narrow. They make it really hard to itch a scratch on your head if you have one, requiring you to stop and remove the helmet. I like the color and the design, it just doesn't feel very safe. I'm on a mult-year adventure trip, so I will keep the helmet for now, but I will have my eye open for another helmet when I have the budget for it.

Network Mips
Very good ventilation and comfortable. Very difficult to install a light at the back

Sunglasses Issue
I’ve ridden 3 networks now for about 5 years without issue but my recent one will not hold onto sunglasses for the life of it. Disappointed in this feature of an otherwise great helmet
