Very nice helmet. I have a more oval shaped head, and the XL fit kinda snug. Just room for a thin balaclava, so it really wasn't really warm enough below about 15 degrees F. I skied with this all season and finally, this spring I removed the ear pads for a warm day, and WOW, the whole helmet fit way better and there's now room for a much thicker balaclava! The problem is the connecting piece of fabric along the back of the neck that holds the ear pads together. It's made out of 2 or more layers of very thick foam-backed fabric. It takes up a lot of room, and really screws up the fit of the whole helmet for me. Next stop: I will cut up the ear pieces so they are just two separate ear pads. Not the most elegant solution, but I see now that it is absolutely necessary. SMITH needs to sell different ear pads - some with just a thin piece of fabric connecting the ear pads. I took one star off just for that, it screws up my fit so much.

Don’t waste your time and money on Vantage helmets which are not properly designed. Tha helmet had a set of rubber band bungees in the back the are supposed to hold your goggles strap in place. The problem is that after a short time that rubber bungee stretches out. Recently, I lost a pair of Oakley goggles that way. Luckily, someone was kind enough to turn them in to lost and found.

Protection Works
I took a pretty big slam to the back of my head on my first ride with this helmet and I’m not brain dead so I’m gonna say it works as advertised. Im actually pretty surprised the helmet is still intact as well. I didn’t feel hot or cold with it, so that’s cool. Style is subjective.

Really Disappointed In The Overall
Really disappointed in the overall fit. I’ve tried a couple options and need the helmet for an upcoming trip so I will make do.. but the sizing is way way off. XL is entirely too small on the crown but too loose lower down. Disappointed

Great Helmet!
Great helmet! Very comfortable and functional. I love that I can open and close the front and back vents separately to help regulate temperature and ventilation. Helmet works well with bluetooth in helmet music (I use Outdoor Tech Chips). I've not had a hard crash yet to test it, but I'm glad this helmet has the MIPS system just in case.

Great Helmet
Very light and comfortable! eEasily adjusts to fit my head and I really like the closable two- section vents! My favorite feature is the small little visor that goes out over the goggles that keep s okey-doke now from sitting on the top of my goggles

Sung Fit For A Medium
Sung fit for a medium but comfortable overall. Had to make a few adjustments to the chin straps to find that comfort but once I did, it’s great for all day use
