Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK, but not American made This item has been relegated as a back-up/loaner item for knife sharpening because the handle is not attached to the sharpener. You the pull the sharpening paddle from the handle when done reverse it and then slide it back into the handle as a sheath. Several times they have separated when not stowed carefully. There are others styles out there that are one piece and Made in America

Maybe it's just me, but even on the fine side, it leaves abrasion marks in the metal...nothing serious but it's there. I use a stone after using this diamond sharpener and smooth it out. I've never had sharper knives! This was a good purchase.

The 1st knife I 'overdid it' but by the second and third knife I was only using 2-3 passes and the blades sharpened up instantly. Fits nicely in the side pocket of my back-packs and it is so light,almost forgot I was carrying it. Great field item.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good prepper tool Its great for a back pack easy to hide or attach seems to work well used it on hunting knife, also good for fish hooks. I just wish they made the plate little thicker.. I don't see any problems as of yet but I'm looking at the long term. Recommend carrying also small bottle of honing oil.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent tool for the home or backpack I have sharpened my Ka-Bar 1211, hunting knifes, kitchen knifes, and a couple of folding knifes to a rasped sharp edge (cutting paper without effort) using the fine side sharpening side.Love this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great sharpener Recently purchased this sharpener along with the Smith's Honing Solution. I've tried it already on a couple blades, mostly the Fine side. Brings blades to a nice sharp edge. I recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not for beginner! I bought this sharpener to try and keep my hunting knives razor sharp. I am new to using this type of sharpener and havent quite got the hang of it yet, but hopefully i am getting close.
