Second, it can be used as a small titanium pot for boiling water, with retractable handles. Third, when not exploring in the back-country, it makes a perfect accessory for your work desk: It can act as a conversation starter about all of your wilderness adventures and a reminder of why you are sitting at your desk gazing at your beautiful titanium mug: So you can make money to go use your Snow Peak 450ml Single Wall Titanium Mug in the great outdoors! If all else fails...you still have an extremely light weight and durable titanium mug, with retractable handles, that can be used to boil water! This purchase was actually for my special lady friend (and as of this review, my soon to be wife...our honeymoon will be thru-hiking the AT)...she got the same mug (and spork) as I have, so we are matchy matchy! I know cute! Anyway, I've used the Snow Peak 450 Single Wall Titanium Mug for several years now and countless cycling tours, motorcycle tours, and several backpacking trips, including the AT with my son, whom also used a Snow Peak 450 Single Wall Titanium Mug (the naked one... he's boring like that), and I will likely always use my Snow Peak 450 Single Wall Titanium Mug when doing this trips with others. It's extremely durable and light weight. I generally cram it in to a side opening on my backpack with something inside it. It will bend a little if you crush is, but a little squeeze on the elongated side and it's like new again. It cleans easily and doesn't retain odors. I've yet to have is stain or scratch. Overall a solid product. If you don't mind spending a few extra dollars on the Snow Peak brand, it's worth the money, otherwise there are several more cost effective brands that make a similar mug.
