The SOG® Slimjim Knife is designed with simplicity and durability in mind. Featuring a one-piece steel construction, the folding knife is incredibly thin, and the patent-pending safety is used to insure the retention of the blade in the handle, as well as act as a double lock in the open position. The Slimjim Knife includes a reversible low carry pocket clip and is a great option for hiking.

The knife I received is the newer version with the sliding thumbstud lock near the blade pivot point. The blade is very sharp as received. I put a few drops of Tuf-Glide on the pivet point and the blade opens completely every time, with no play. Overall, a unique, high-quality knife at a good price.

I bought this knife a couple months ago and assist does not open the blade all the way to the locking point. It is annoying but it works well enough. The blade is sharp!

Creeps open enough to expose the point when closed and locked. Cut my little finger joint almost to the bone when I slid my hand into my pocket. Badly designed!!!

Still working on opening this knife. I wish this was tested before it was shipped to me.

I've owned several of the OLD style Slim Jims. I lost one and the other two had "issues" - one blade refused to close and the other popped open unless the safety was engaged. While SOG doesn't repair their knives they will and did stand behind their guarantee and exchanged them for a different model since they know longer make Slim Jims with Tanto points - the perfect self-defense blade (in my opinion).

It’s very tight and needs to be broken in. I actually took it apart and filed it down to allow the blade to open easier. It works so much better now. Voided the warrantee, but I’ll use it now.

Very nice knife, very thin and sharp and easy to sharpen. This is my 2nd slimjim which I use as an EDC, even though the handle is thin it is easy to hold on to. I recommend it.

This pocket knife was given to me as a gift from my son prior to him leaving on his first military deployment. That was nearly 10 years ago. It has served me well on a daily basis. I have been more than pleased with it. Keeps a good edge to the blade. Cleans up easily. I have given several away as gifts to sons in law.
Excellent everyday carry.... second one I have purchased

as someone who has owned this knife since 2017ish and bought it twice, over all I love it. i clip it to one of my side pockets and forget its there until i need it. ive used it for work to open boxes and bags whenever needed so as a mechanic ive used it quite a bit. however, after a while the blade lock or safety wears out and slides freely, making it a little annoying when trying to open or close it. if this feature was removed i would easily give it a 10/10. as the blade retention when closed or open is strong enough to not worry about it unintentionally opening or cloosing, i feel its just a redundant feature. solid 9/10

The good: super sharp, well made, very light weight and thin. The bad: Assisted opening blade does not fully open and lock. Squeeze to close lock makes it difficult to close one handed and a little unsafe. Must use lock, knife opened in my pocket and it cut my finger.

Great feel. Love the size. Like the locking feature. Feels a little sticky

Pretty hard to open one handed. CR\LP didn't help.
