Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sole = Quality Received my Sole SR500 a few weeks ago and have approx.. 10+ workouts on it. Here are my lists of Pros and Cons PROS: Quality: SOLE is QUILITY!.....this model is a TANK and should last for years. We have a SOLE F8 from 2010 and not one problem with other 3,000 miles. Weighs 115 lbs. Aesthetics: looks modern, sturdy and sleek. Smooth flywheel and gliding seat. Quiet as quiet as a flywheel rower can be. I received an all black model unlike the gray version in the pictures and love the look. Easy to get on and off and feet pedals are great: very adjustable to every foot size. Very easy to fold. Has a LARGE footprint so make sure you measure the area prior to purchasing. Screen: large, easy to use, easy to read, and lots of features. However, not blue/screen color like the picture (it is black and white, not a big deal). Flywheel AND Magnetic: You get the best of both worlds with this rower. Smooth flywheel and gliding seat. Resistance levels: 16 levels with 1 being the easiest to 16 being DIFFICULT (you have to be a bodybuilder at this level). VERY easy to change from the handlebar Assembly: Very easy, about 30 minutes: I highly recommend 2 people assemble as it is bulky and heavy. CONS: Not many EXCEPT, the seat is UNBEARABLE after 5 minutes (looking for a cushion so you should plan to spend up to an additional $50).........reason for my one-star deduction. I wonder if the developers/designers used it besides to sit on! Come on Sole, you should have done better with the seat! Not a con, however, it uses a nylon strap and those are very strong (think of a car towing strap there is a reason they do not use cables or chains to tow a car). Hope it will last. A LOT of value for the money, I purchased at DSG for $800 and free shipping, thus does not show as a verified purchase. I would purchase again without hesitation (I purchased sight unseen)!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rower for price. Received this Rower in "the mail" a month ago and have been using it daily. Solid construction and easy assembly. Heavy. Degrees of strength from 1 to 20 and operation is smooth. I haven't got the hang of programming quite yet (and really don't care), but so far so good and excellent equipment added to elliptical and treadmills we already had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product & excellent manufacturer service Purchased the Sole SR500 Rower online from Dick's in early January 2016. We had an initial minor problem with the resistance buttons on the handle, but rower itself so far has been of good quality and sturdy. I must however elaborate on the excellent customer service received by Sole Fitness. After my wife and I put together (which consisted of about 15-20 screws and an allen wrench & took no more than 20 minutes) and began using the machine, we noticed the resistance controls on the handle were not working (although there are controls for resistance on the screen, so this wasn't a huge inconvenience for us). I contacted Sole Fitness to see if a fix would be as easy as shipping a replacement part. After about a week or two of research by the individual with Sole Fitness and thorough communication to us the whole time on his conversations with the manufacturer, it was determined that the specific part we needed would not be available. The individual offered to ship to us at no cost a brand-new machine to replace our existing one. So far the new machine has worked perfectly. It's hard to find customer service anymore that is willing to take time to make sure customer concerns are fully resolved in a timely manner. it was much appreciated and as a result i would not hesitate to purchase future Sole Fitness products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sole SR500 Rower I have had my Sole SR500 Rower for 3 months and am very satisfied so far. It was easy to assemble by myself, but would have been even easier with 2 people. It seems to be a solid and durable rower. The rower is comfortable, glides nicely and has an easy to read LCD display without my reading glasses. Take some time to read the operation and programming instructions as well as trying out different program modes. There are 4 User profiles U1 - U4, 12 Programs P1 - P12 and 16 Resistance Levels L1 - L16 that can be set for individual segments to combine variable workouts and resistance. There are 6 Modes. Manual, Program, Watt, User, HRC and Race. Manual Mode is always a good place to start. As I stated previously, take the time to read and try various exercise modes. The variety of selections may seem complicated at first, but it won't take long before you start enjoying your rowing exercises. I read a review that said there wasn't much of a difference in resistance. At first, I thought the same thing until I took the time to read and try various Modes, Programs P1 - P12 and Levels L1 - L16. I would definitely recommend this rower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New to rowers but love one My husband convinced me that a rower was a better machine than an elliptical. He rows at the gym and I use the elliptical but we could not agree on a unit for the house. I caved and we got he rower. I still go to the gym and use the elliptical but I am using the rower at home on the days I cannot get to the gym. I am still getting used to it and the resistance it pretty much nothing but I like rowing and this is nice, my husband agrees. Rowing is fun workout I am finding out and this Sole models is a nice rower.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice rower My wife has a Sole elliptical and we have been very happy with the machine overall. So I was still a little skeptical of the rower but decided to give it a try based on our experience with my wife's elliptical. This is a good machine with all of the quality we like on our other unit in a rower. Very smoth with a nice display and solid not flimsy at all. So far impressed we will se how it performs long term I am using it 30 minutes 4 times a week.
