As a Combustion Engineer, I have to question whether the Solo Bonfire design is suitable at high altitude use, especially with the spark screen attachment in place. We are at 5,250 feet and get black, sooty smoke except when the fire burns down to a low bed of embers. Even the handles on the screens turn black with soot - and definitely cannot consider cooking anything as it will come out covered in soot. The design does not support the lower oxygen content of high altitude air. Disappointing, to say the least.
