[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this about a month ago to prevent 'popping' embers from landing on my synthetic deck & damaging it. I've had 3 fires so far and the shield has done its job. This shield is a little pricy, but that's to be expected from Solo as their product is top-notch. There's cheaper imported substitutes available out there, but buy SOLO and you won't regret it.

Love my Bonfire. Use it often during the short cold winter we have. Purchased the spark screen when they first were available. Issue now is the screen has degraded and is falling apart. I dont keep it outside but after using the night before, I clean it up and bring it into the garage for storage until next time its used. So it stays out of the weather. Looks like the screen material cannot handle the repeated heating of the fire. Appears to have a high carbon content. Screen material is very rusted and crumbles when touched in areas. I have a photo but unsure how to post with review. Great product while its lasted but with portions starting to open up, it reduces its function as a spark arrestor. Still usable but plan to replace in the next year or so.

I got one of these as part of a bundle. It doesn't really block small sparks but does catch any large embers that go flying. The top part got super-heated one night and was rusted the next morning where it got super heated. Recommendation from customer service is to clean with bar-keepers friend but I am skeptical that helps with rust. Not worth the money for driveway use, which is where I tend to use it.

After months of watching the Solo Bonfire reviews when it first was advertised, I purchased one for our wood deck. After the first use, realized the spark arrestor was a must have. I purchased one immediately because the Solo Bonfire had been such an awesome product. It's been about a year now that I've had both. Still LOVE my Bonfire but the spark arrester is deteriorating. The top screen that gets hot is falling apart. Incredibly disappointed considering this is not an inexpensive accessory. I bring the Bonfire in the porch after every use(and it has cooled). I can't spend this amount of money on another arrester. Probably get a cheap one, they seem to perform the same.

I am actually not a big bonfire person cause I hate the smoky smell. This had solved that problem and now I actually enjoying having a bonfire. I do wish though there was a size between the bonfire and the yukon.

The Bonfire is a great fire pit but right from the start I wanted a screen to control sparks. I looked at third party screens but was not overly impressed for the price being asked. This screen has some really great features including the lift off center ring and tools that make removing the screen very secure. It's a good value. The only snag was that the screen requires its own fire ring and the original does not fit. When I called I was told that the newly designed ring should have been included in my order. Well people make mistakes but what's important is how those mistakes are addressed. I literally had the correct ring on my doorstep in about 24 hours after my call. I'm in Virginia and this shipped from Pennsylvania so your experience might vary. The thing is they had shipped the ring within hours of my call. Way to go SOLO!

I was ready to build a fixture for my Solo Bonfire to be able to cook with my large 30" wok until I found the spark arrestor. This is absolutely what I need to put the wok on to cook! Thank you for designing this accessory.

We use our bonfire on our porch So the shield was an absolute must. It really helps keep the sparks contained.

This really is a great design. The two piece system to the screen makes it easy to access the fire and the sticks that are used to remove the screens really are ingenious. I haven't tried it yet but I bet the top screen will be great for making toast.

So happy Solo Stove listened to their customers! I been using another style spark screen but it's very heavy and doesn't match the style of my Bonfire. The Shield is a perfect fit for my Bonfire! Being able to remove the top portion to roast marshmallows or add wood is such a nice feature!

Using the shield double confirms and exceeds my expectations! A great addition to my bonfire, adding a layer of safety as well as keeping the appearance and character of my Bonfire looking good! Removal tools work well, there is a lot of stability using both as advertised. Removing the top piece by simply lifting it off the unit is a nice feature when more fuel needs to be added to maintain that solo stove flame!
