I needed waterproof lightweight AND comfortable walking boots for my trip to Ireland in October. After doing a bunch of research, I noticed SOREL kept coming up. I find that many waterproof boots are uncomfortable to wear for long periods of time, esp. when walking long distances as I’m used to getting 16,000-25,000 steps/day come rain or shine. All of the reviews for this boot kept talking about how comfy these shoes are and how well they hold up to the weather. I am THRILLED I decided to go for it. They live up to ALL the hype as far as comfortably, fit, easy to get on and off without a lot of fuss like other laced boots, grip and warmth. I can’t speak to dryness as I haven’t worn them in the rain or snow yet, but I’m sure they will be fine. They do run true to size, however if you use an insert like Dr Scholls, you should go up a half size. I’m normally a 10, but brought the 10.5 to make sure I had room enough for my Plantar Fasciitis insert and a good sock. The 10.5 is a perfect fit. I also love how stylish these are- can be dressed up or down. If you’re on the fence about this purchase don’t wait a moment longer.
