Rated 3 out of 5 by from Missing parts Took a long time to assemble. Especially since 5 pieces were missing and I had to call and order them....took at least a week if not 10 days to get replacement parts. Then I realized i was still missing a partz, but instead of reordering and waiting again, I manufactured a piece from the unused, extra pieces that came with the goal. Overall the goal is good. I would say the 90 degree piece that extends from base to pole is a nuissance since the ball goes thru the net and down to hit it....thus causing the ball to shoot out rapidly toward the freethrow line. Great for shooting freethrows...terrible for every other shot.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from just what the grandkids wanted I see why you ask $180.00 to assemble my son-in-law and I started at 10pm and finished at 3:30 am. at first didn't know where the poles were you didn't tell us they were in the base after that we proceeded we did not have any extra parts nor missing any a pluss! the only thing that after assembly the backboard was twisted about 5 degreesfrom center the pin notches were allinged correctly. after that play ball

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disspointed I bought this hoop a year ago and I am disappointed. The backboard broke. This is the second time using this model the first one broke after 8 years of service. This one I feel was defective . Did not last

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible, do not buy at all costs Ordered online and arrived in a beaten up box. Go to put together and missing entire main pole that connects backboard to base. return it to store and they send another one to house one week later also missing same pole. Waste 20 minutes on customer service hold with spalding no answer. Dicks customer service has no idea why its missing/ or is there a second box not being shipped. More wasted time, strained my elbow moving box. Utter disaster. Now need to return second shipment still no basketball

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful hoop Took a while to put together. To the first review, your poles were inside of the huge base. Both on your first hoop and the second one you got. I also thought the poles were missing initially.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So Far So Good... Bought for Xmas gift for son -- spent good part of an afternoon putting-together with him. I don't think the assembly was really that difficult, just some awkward moments trying to line-up holes and whatnot. Definitely will need to make sure you have something to prop-up the post on while assembling (the instructions suggest a sawhorse or table, but I found you need something a bit higher than that so used a 55 Gal trashbin that was full and worked perfect, esp when installing the rim). I was missing a single lock-nut, but a quick trip to the HD and something like 16 cents later was back in business. Otherwise, assembly was smooth... After all was assembled, I decided to fill with water and started doing-so while the backboard was tipped-forward. Once I felt it had enough water, I stood-upright, and to my surprise saw water gushing out of the base around where the Pole attached to the base!! It did stop after a while, so I am assuming that I simply over-filled the base with water?? No way to know and don't see anything in the reviews or in the documentation to know whether seeing leaks from the pole base area is normal or not.... For safety, in case water continues to leak, I put 100lbs of sand on the base and a wood block in front of the wheels. So it's only been a day -- I like the system, feels solid enough (compared to the $2k in-ground system my neighbor has....) for casual play by early-teens. I'll update the review once I get more time with it.
