Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good on sand near water Bought "King of the Beach" because I was looking for a ball that could be used by the water with out getting heavy or damaged. I was tired of using my good leather balls (Wilson AVP and Mikasa blue/yellow/white Olympic) which would get very heavy as they got wet. Plus at $60 each I don't want to damage them by getting them wet repeatedly. We play on a small sand beach very near a lake and the ball gets wet every 5 minutes. This ball is great. Get it wet and just dry with a beach towel. Doesn't change weight or feel once towel dried. We play it soft for control. some balls 'slap' your arms when soft but not this one. Hope it lasts a long time to offset the $40 I paid at Dicks. Best synthetic ball I've used.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best outdoor volleyball This is the best outdoor volleyball on the market for both grass and sand.Only complaint is I've visited three Dick's store and none of them had them on the shelf. The cheap model are stocked on the shelf. As a volleyball fan this is upsetting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ball, wrong product image Great volleyball. Keep in mind this is the official ball and not the replica that is shown in the image.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A great ball (while it held air) This is the ball that good volleyball players prefer over the Wilson AVP. It sets, bumps, spikes, and serves better than almost all other balls. After 6 months of play, it started losing air. Now, it's a $45 "marshmallow," flat and useless. This is a known problem among veteran players. I'd recommend getting an extended warranty or similar and save your receipt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from spalding going on 3rd year with 1 ball Bought one in 2015 nice out door ball played it for two years still going strong can't wait to start 3rd year, noticed I have to add a little air sitting all winter, checked out same ball 2016 outer cover felt a little stiffer may affect the play, won't buy a Wilson ball again they fall apart and lose air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pleasently surprised! I was a little scheptical at first about buying this ball. I have always had the Wilson AVP, and didn't know if I would be satisfied with the synthetic cover on the Spalding. But after playing with it for a few weeks I have no complaints! I like the weight of the ball, the feel is nice, and there isn't any "sting" on your arms that you usually get from a synthetic ball. Hopefully it will hold up longer than the AVP ball did! (The AVP starts loosing air after a few months)
