I haven't used this at the beach or in high winds yet, so I can't comment on its durability in those conditions. I've used it in moderately winter conditions though (15 mph or so) without issue. I spend an enormous amount of time at my kids' outdoor sports events, especially soccer where there is no shade. This umbrella is perfect for that. Two folding chairs will fit under this even without the ground stake pole attached. Just open it like an umbrella and throw it on the ground and it's ready to go. But if there is wind, you'll want to use the included anchors. It's also very light for the long walks to the field.
