Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best quality climber on the market !!!!! If you take the time to read the instructions you will see the most important guideline for the use of the cinch strap. when properly used, it is nearly impossible for the climber to fall. I owned my first one for apx 5 years, and made the mistake of replacing it with an extremely light weight climber of less than 09 lbs. I used the light weight one once on a tree i've hunted out of dozens of times, and when I made it back to the ground, I immediately went and replaced it with a brand new summit viper and have enjoyed the sense of safety, ease of use and comfort that i did with my first one. Accessories are easy to find, and there are very few trees I cannot climb. A thousand thumbs up for this extremely safe climber.....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Viper SD Unless you want exercise, stick to the aluminum version. This is the second one I've owned and I have no clue why I sold the first one to a friend. The newer versions are slightly revised but basically the same as 10 years ago. I'd recommend the additional footrest and I just added the Summit accessory rail bag. One word sums these stands up, comfort. An all day without coming down isn't out of the question, even at 51

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Very narrow setting area Bought it a month ago. Viper Sd. Yesterday was the first use. Once I was up the tree I knew I had a problem. Once seated in the stand you have no room to barley hold your crossbow. The seat is like a sports car seat very comfortable however so tight. My old summit classic is much wider. There is noway to rest your weapon. If your hands get cold your out of luck you can not even but your hands in your pockets due to the side rails. You will need to hold your weapon at all times other wise to the ground it will go. I even had a hard time getting my range finder out of my pocket. I am 6ft tall 180lbs. There is no specs of deminsions so beware.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid mid-range climber. I'll just hit the big points.Pros:Thick, comfy seatQuiet (both climbing and packing in)Feels secure in the treeRelatively lightCons:Cable coating starts scraping off immediatelyPlatform is a tad slick, and have yet to take it in the snowWhile the shoulder straps are comfortable, they seem overly elastic, causing excessive bounce during hikingOverall Impressions: Love the stand, will use it for many years to come, all my quibbles are relatively minor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from If You're Looking for a Climber - This Is the One I love this climber. If you're looking for a climber treestand - this is the one. I've never had a more comfortable treestand , period. The backpack straps are great and it's really easy to set your backpack inside the collapsed unit to have everything on your back when you head into the woods. The Quickdraw Cable Retention system is genius, it's easy to adjust quickly without dealing with noisy and annoying pins. Climbing is a breeze - because both the top and bottom section have 2 contact points with the tree, you feel secure every step of the way. The Sound Deadening technology is the extra stealth factor you're looking for. Not only does it help when you're in the tree - it makes climbing quieter too. The adjustable seat is extremely comfortable. The extra thick foam with the full back is like sitting in a La-z-boy in a tree. I can sit all day without any discomfort. I'm picking one up for my brother and my dad this Christmas. You won't be disappointed with this climber from Summit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for older guys. Just turned 67 and needed a light but safe climber to pack in and out hunting publlic land. The Summit Viper fits the bill. Easy to hang, easy to pack very stable on the air.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great features/ easy use I bought this climber on a friends recommendation. I had look at the Goliath and titan due to my previous weight but lost some pounds and decided on the viper, couldn’t be happier. Easy to use no stress on my knees, even after having knee replacement on both knees within last two yrs. Will swear by this product
