Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great setup for the price! I bought this to use with our new 14’ Field and Stream Scout Canoe. We have used it on my wife’s Subaru Outback and my Jeep Wrangler (4-door with hard top removed.). The only thing you need to do to prepare for this is to locate some anchor points on your chassis and learn how to tie a Truckers Hitch knot (YouTube or Google). The tie down is solid! We have ordered some hood and trunk tie down loop straps just to simplify the anchor points, but otherwise this does the trick as is.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK product, overpriced. This product slipped while on the top of my car, we had to stop and reposition. It did do a good job of protecting the car and the canoe, but I thought it was very overpriced for simple foam blocks, and one of them near the back of the car blew off somewhere.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Adequate product Worked OK. A second strap is really necessary, and the kit only included one. With that being the case, it didn't hold as securely as I'd like, and we even ended losing one of the foam blocks (but found it later). The foam blocks could easily be replaced with pool noodles at greatly reduced expense, even though they would not be as durable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cheap Canoe carrier Bought this to cart a canoe on top of my sedan. Came with everything needed to secure a 16 foot boat to my car. I can drive down the road with confidence even at highway speeds with the boat on the car. Simple and easy to use. It is easier to load the boat with two people but it is doable with one.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the right fit for my cedar strip canoe The gunwales on my canoe are too thick so these foam pads won't fit easily...they go on, but it's not a great fit. Good quality rope. Wish there were two straps. Ended up buying two more straps.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Foam blocks work great but the rope is cheap You are pretty much just paying for the foam blocks. I had to use tie down straps. Save your money and just get the foam.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor fit I bought this for an Old Town Saranac 146. The pads did not fit the gunnels properly so I lost 2 pads on the first trip. I carried the canoe on 2010 Honda CR-V. Years ago I used a similar product (don't recall the brand) on an Old Town 160 many times with no problems.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Quality Foam blocks were OK but straps broke on one trip to Florida.
