About This Item
FORGED FEEL
Incredible feel is a must for having a great wedge game. MG5 has been forged from soft carbon steel and designed with geometry to provide excellent feel with great feedback.
MAXIMUM SPIN
MG5 uses all-new, more aggressive grooves designed to maximize spin. Saw-milled grooves produce tighter tolerances allowing engineers to design steeper walls and sharper radii intended to maximize spin in both dry and damp conditions.
PERFORMANCE IN ALL CONDITIONS
RAW face with Spin Tread technology channels away moisture to help retain spin. The same way that tire treads help your car stay connected to the road, laseretched channels redirect water at impact and creates more friction between the club face and golf ball to maintain spin in wet conditions.
CRAFTSMANSHIP MEETS CONSISTENCY
Crafted by hand and then milled to perfection. Each wedge and sole grind are precision-milled to eliminate the natural human error that comes with hand polishing. Our grinds deliver unmatched consistency and craftsmanship that players can count on every time.
CHARCOAL FINISH
MG5 debuts a sleek, sophisticated charcoal finish that reduces glare and enhances its aesthetic appeal in the bag.
I bought this, and the spin on the 56 satisfied me. I recommend that if you want a soft feel and value precision over spin (choose hitoe for spin)

Why I Switched To Mg5 Wedges
I switched into the 50°, 54°, and 60° TaylorMade MG5 wedges with steel shafts after playing the Qi HL set with graphite shafts — the P, A, S, and even the novelty 69° lob wedge. It didn’t take long to realize I needed tighter dispersion once I was inside 135 yards. The game‑improvement irons were almost too forgiving, and the graphite shafts gave me inconsistent distance windows. Some shots would jump, some would float, and my landing zones were all over the place. I figured maybe the 69° wedge set would solve it — blade‑style heads, steel shafts, and a more traditional feel. After two weekends, it was obvious they weren’t the answer. They looked the part, but they were gimmicky. No real bite on the ball, no predictable spin, and the turf interaction felt like guesswork. Before I even get into performance, the MG5s just look right. I’m biased toward TaylorMade — their clubs have the cleanest lines in the game — but these wedges stand out even more when they’re in their own little trio in the bag. Having a dedicated TM wedge setup gives off that “this guy knows what he’s doing” vibe, even if I’m not a scratch golfer. I’ve had multiple people comment on them before I’ve even swung one. They look sharp, they look intentional, and they look like they belong in the hands of someone who takes their short game seriously. One thing I noticed right away with the MG5s was the scuff marks they leave on the ball after a clean strike. That tells me two things: my contact is solid, and the face actually has some bite to it. With the Qi HLs and the 69° set, the ball came off too clean — no friction, no real grab. With the MG5s, I’m finally seeing the ball check up, take a hop, and stop. On the right swing, I’m even getting visible backspin and those sudden brakes on the green that I’ve never been able to produce before. It’s the first time I’ve been able to see my spin instead of just hoping for it. If you’re looking for wedges that actually give you control, consistency, and real spin, the MG5s are an easy recommendation. They look great, they perform even better, and they’re the first wedges I’ve played that made a noticeable difference in my scoring shots.

Mg5 With S400 - Perfection
These wedges are absolutely legit. With my previous set (Callaway Milled) and KBS Ctaper shafts, I was losing both distance and control. New MG5 with S400 are just absolutely perfect for me. I'm currently a mid hcp, used to be a 5 hcp.
