About This Item

LOW TORQUE DESIGN

  • The KBS putter shaft is bored directly toe-ward near the CG at a 1° shaft lean with 25mm onset behind the face allowing golfers to realize the benefits of a new stable, toe up design.

Unique Sole Shaping

  • New and improved sole shaping to work specifically with this unique hosel configuration, engineers worked tirelessly to find new ways to improve accuracy from the moment the putter is placed behind the ball. The new sole curvature accommodates different player types and ball positions, giving golfers the ability to find a consistent and repeatable stroke.

Spider Stability

  • Combining high density stainless steel and low-density aerospace quality aluminum provides the perfect foundation for a design that is high MOI and allows for a shaft orientation that sits closer to the face.

MILLED TRUE PATH™ ALIGNMENT

  • Based on tour player feedback, TaylorMade engineers were tasked to find a new premium alignment system. Building on the classic TaylorMade True Path™ technology, milled lines the width of the golf ball were added helping golfers properly index to center face.

PURE ROLL™ INSERT

  • Made from a combination of Surlyn and aluminum, the black Pure Roll™ insert creates a softer feel. Grooves are angled at 45° to encourage optimal forward roll as well as better sound, feel and overall roll characteristics.

One Of The Best Pieces Of Gear I Have Ever Used

I CAN NOT MISS! This is one of the greatest gifts I have ever received for golf!

Great On Shorter Putts, Learning Curve On Others

This putter is amazing on shorter putts inside six feet, but longer putts take a little time to get used to the softer insert where your putter makes contact with the ball, as well as the counter balance weight system. I've played about six rounds with it and am still learning what grip and how far down on the grip to place my hands. But inside of six feet, it works best to use a pendulum stroke without placing my thumbs on the grip. The weight of the club does the work, and it is unbelieveably good on those putts. Just get it lined up and let the putter do the work. Longer putts I've had a little more trouble judging distances, and am still working on it.

Best Putter I Have Owned

I switched to the Spider ZT Counterbalance and I am staying with it. The head feels solid and stable through the stroke. The roll comes off clean and true. Distance control is easier for me with this putter than with anything else I have tried. I owned a L.A.B. DF3 before this. After using the Spider, the DF3 feels cheap and poorly finished. That stings because I paid about 1.5 times more for the DF3 with the shaft upgrade, then waited almost six weeks for it to show up. The Spider beats it in feel, balance, and confidence at address. Length matters on this model. I first bought the 38 inch counterbalance. It was too long for my setup and made me fight posture and tempo. I moved to the 36 inch and it fits me far better. For reference, I normally play a 34.5 inch standard putter. The 36 inch counterbalance lets me keep the heavier feel without forcing me upright. If you want a counterbalanced putter that feels premium and helps you start the ball on line, this one delivers. I recommend paying attention to length and getting the size that matches your normal setup.

Putt For Dough !!

Zero/low torque is the way to go. I have had this putter a 38" counterbalanced for about a month and have played 7-8 rounds now. I love the look and weight of the putter and getting very use to it. I only have one issue with it. The sound off the face when the ball is struck is silent, which I'm still a little bothered by, I wish it had a little sound off the face, even a tiny sound. Otherwise, it has little to no torque and is very balanced which makes for a very smooth arc in my stroke, which in turn keeps the putt online.

Home Run

I’ve used a bunch of nice putters over the years (Scotty, Ping, Cameron & Crown, Spider Tour) but nothing comes close to the confidence I feel with the counter balanced ZT. Particularly noticeable on the pesky 5-6 footers that used to make me sweat - now I can just put them in without much thought. I thought I would miss the longer alignment line of the Spider Tour but the alignment on this putter is so much more intuitive that you don’t need it. Home run for me.
