The hat is very soft but it's a very small hat. I brought this for my 2 month old and it's a size 6-12 month and it barely fits him. This was actually the 2nd hat that I purchased because I originally ordered a 0-6 month and I thought that was too small so I returned that and ordered the bigger size and I see no difference.
