I just got these today & went for a 5 mile run in the Foothills of the Sandias. 900 ft of gain and the shoes were great. Yes, Ive tried them all & "still" run in Hokas, Altras, inov8, mountain to coast, indeed still looking for the 5 star shoe but I'd give it a very solid 4 out of the box. Curious how they hold up in a 50k & 50 Miler. Cushion on this shoe is impressive but how will it be in 250+ miles? Especially on Mt. terrain & true Trail running. But I will recommend them especially this Sale price. Perspective is up to your foot @ the end of the day. Outside Medicine keep running.

I purchased these for myself during the summer. They are the most comfortable shoes hands-down. I am waiting for them to come out with some cool colors. Guess what, my wife received her own pair for Christmas. She loves them.

I am an urban dweller and do a lot of walking. The Altamesa 500 checks all the boxes, comfort, support and durability. My feet love the 500's. Daily does me right.

By pure chance, I came across a North Face sneaker in an ad. I've been a loyal Altra buyer for years because of the wide toe box, so I figured I'd hedge my bets and ordered two pairs of Altras and one pair of North Face. The North Face arrived first. The moment I put them on, I knew - instantly - this was the best tennis shoe I've ever had on my feet. The fit, the comfort, the balance... it just felt right. A few days later, the Altras showed up. They feel great too - as expected - but there's honestly no comparison. The North Face stands in a class of its own. Consider me converted. Awesome shoe. John

These have replaced my hokas over the last year. Definitely better comfort and find them to be more durable. Own the 500 & pair of the 300's. Nice work NF hope you never change the recipe on the cushioned sole.

This my second pair of Altamesa 500 trail shoes. I am 70 years old and have been a trail runner for almost 50 years. I have run in virtually every brand of shoes over the years and I have to say honestly " this is the best trail shoe I have ever run in". I put just over a thousand miles on my first pair before I felt any breakdown of cushioning. The outer sole is very sticky on rough and wet terrain. Despite a R2R2R in the Grand Canyon, Kings Peak in Utah, 3 x Pikes Peak in Colorado, San Jacinto Peak in California and many other runs, there is not one tear in the fabric or mess of the shoe. This shoe is my all time mountain goat and I cannot wait to put another thousand miles on this new pair. Never stop running dirt.

Great for the gym and walking around town. Very soft and the material seems very durable.

Truly one of a kind trail running shoe. I've bought two for myself and gave two other pairs to members of my family....That's how good they are!

Great cushioned trainer for logging miles on the trails.

Good choice for someone with arch support issues and as a senior walker, I wanted something that would provide good footing on a variety of surfaces. These are great for extended walks. They run true to size for length and width and will accommodate thicker socks. Also like the heel tab to help put on.

Great shoe for walking, running, work, and play. Stable, supportive, and cushiony at the same time.

These are the most comfortable pair of trail runners I've ever had. They hug my feet and give me plenty of support and grip on all surfaces.
