The Zippers!

The zippers are designed to keep the air from flowing into the jacket, and in that regard they work, but I find operation of the zippers difficult and awkward at times. These do not appear to be zippers that will last.

Ok, But Needs A 2 Way Zipper Otherwise Useless!

Decent ski jacket, BUT it is useless because it does NOT have a 2-way zipper for the main zipper. So glad NorthFace saved 30 cents by not using a 2 way zipper!! ALL Ski jackets should properly have 2 way zippers for maneuverability, ease of sitting (on chairlift, gonjala…), especially since they are ALL designed for models which are 6’4” and 120 lbs. Just FYI, MOST average males are about are 5’11” and 220 lbs. So we need an XL to fit around the beer belly, but we do NOT need them to reach our knees! Love the color, not a fan of the very soft outer shell, but some folks like that. I prefer the much hardier heavy type shell material. These are the very soft type.

Great Performance On The Slopes

I've been riding in the Men's Chakal Jacket this season, and it's been great for snowboarding. It keeps me warm on cold, windy days without feeling bulky, and the vents help a lot when I start heating up after a few runs. The waterproofing is solid - I took a few falls in the snow and stayed dry all day. The powder skirt and wrist gaiters really help keep snow out, and the hood fits well over a helmet. Good jacket for great price. My son was skiing and got lost on mountain for 2 hours in white out conditions. The amazing jacket protected him from hypothermia and he was rescued. Without this jacket, it would've been bad.
