So far it's good for sun, cold, wind and/or rain. I prefer the feel of the underarms un-zipped. Sometimes when the pit-zips are closed, the zippers, being a bit stiff/rigid can rub on the ribs a tiny bit. Sometimes that's of no thought, other times it makes me as mad as a grizzly. Altogether, four good zippered pockets. Light weight. Seems of excellent quality. Great if it is cool or warm with cinches, zippers and velcro to open or close it. After months, the velcro seems to grip less though good enough, I think. The hood is nice and roomy! I often wish hoods were larger and this is a fairly big one and I am glad. If the wearer wants to use the front exterior pockets much, they may become irritated with the go-around of those pockets but the cover keeps it warmer however, accessing them reminds me of being goose-tickled. I added a small square of velcro to the cuff of each sleeve, so I can wear the sleeves completely wide for ventilation and cover for fingers when it is warmer and keep the adjuster straps secured - a great modification in my opinion. I am glad to have a big size for myself. I suggest going up in size so it covers you up to stay warm in the cold weather and looser so it can breathe if it's warm weather and you don't want to be dried out by the wind or sunburned. If you do not want to need gloves so much, such an approach may be pretty good. It slides on/off easy when using a big size. I think it can attach to a RETRO denali fleece jacket (-the version with pit zippers and snaps into the mountain jacket. I like the pit-zippers of the retro denali more than the mountain jacket's pit-zips because they are less noticeable to feel.) or I think it can attack to a nuptse jacket (1996 version they still sell? is there some other? ...) -to be warmer.
