Rated 1 out of 5 by from DO NOT BUY- RUBBER WILL CRACK, RUINING BOOTS These boots are comfortable but they're horrible quality. I live in the South (where we don't get much snow), and yet wearing these boots a few times a year caused the rubber to crack in half. The tread on the bottom still looks brand new, but the boots are ruined and unwearable. You'll see the "Lifetime Guarantee" in large letters on the description of the boots, but that is a lie- if you read the fine print, North Face only guarantees their footwear for one year, so you're completely out of luck when your like-new boots rip in half a few years down the road. Don't be deceived by TNF's deceitful advertising practices.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't Fit I purchased a pair of men's Chilkat 400 boots after reading the reviews. I ordered a pair that was one full size larger than I wear; upshot; Cost: fair, Shipping: free, Delivery: fast, 'I Can't get my feet in them': priceless. Living in the Colorado Rockies, I needed a new pair of winter boots. I don't design shoes or boots for a living, but in my case, this appears to be more than a size issue. I returned them and bought a pair of comparable Sorrels. There is no selection / discussion on width, and it isn't addressed in the specifications. I would recommend them to a friend, but with a 'size / width' caution.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as tough as they look At first, I was soooo happy with these comfy, tough looking boots! I felt like I was ready to take on winter :) Sadly, after only 2 months of wear the rubber bottom part cracked open on top of the toe! Not along a seam or anything (as I one might suspect can occur with stress), it literally just flopped open one day as I was walking into my office. I know TWO other people that experienced the same thing. With this number of incidents, it can't be just by chance, thus, I believe it reflects poor quality. So disappointing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best boots I've owned yet these boots are really really warm. I would recommend a half size bigger than your usual shoe size though. I live on the shore of Lake Erie where our winter season is usually filled with a lot of snow and a lot of days where temperatures go below zero almost the entire season. These boots have kept my feet warm through this terrible winter. water proofing is good too. haven't had a problem with wet feet either with them. Also can be used for snowboard but i don't recommend that. for me at least, the don't go high enough up my leg to work for that. But I also didn't buy these for snowboarding. It was just a bit of a plus.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well made, comfortable boot Have been breaking the boot in for about 2 weeks now, very comfortable and packed full of insulation for the upcoming cold winter days. Not a boot designed for long day hikes as there are better options available from NF, but for low to mid level activities like ice fishing, winter camping, snowshoeing etc., or just getting around town this boot will excel. Doesn't get 5 stars as the sizing does run small, I'm an 11.5 shoe and wear the 12.5 boot due to large quantity of insulation and room for a decent sock. Do yourself a favour and try it on in store if you can. If you dont have the chance, go at minimum a full size up maybe 1.5 sizes if you live in a particularily cold area of the country to allow for thick socks. I believe the insulation is good to about - 40C. Cheers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the one I have tried many name brand boots. From DIEHARD boot from the makers of DIEHARD Batteries to DeWALT boot from the makers of DeWALT tools to CARHARTT boots. These names signify power and endurance. Its what we expect from a pair of boots. But when I tried a pair of the NORTHFACE boots it was more than power and endurance. It is a boot like no other. Its comfortable, warm and reliable in any kind of terrain, snow, mud, or rain. Its not only stylish, but strong. This boot will definately give you the confidence to step outside in any condition. Its worth the money . Trust me its the best boot money can buy. I gurantee it! Try it, you wont be dissapointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warm While They Lasted I bought these I think in November, by early March they were toast. The seams are falling apart and the tread is worn down to almost nothing. I was really excited about these boots because they have a lot of great features that I look for when buying a winter boot. The only reason I'm giving it 2 stars is because they are by far the warmest winter boot I've used I've ever used.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Rubbet will crack Wore these shoes to Tahoe twice. The rubber by the toes cracked and ripped off from the leather. Does not seem to live up to Northface standards
