    Car Camping Hotel

Used this tent for 3 years now car camping. Got the footprint too. Durable materials with no issues. The vestibule is perfect for muddy boots, backpacks, keep gear dry like axe and chairs. Its like walking into an AirB&B for 2 people and a dog. Just saw several of these tents at Algonquin last trip in either colours. I recommend it

    Great Tent, Customer Service Terrible

I purchased the Wawona 6 tent and have had the joy of using it 3 times it is a wonderful tent for my family. The tent pole blew out on our last trip, I opened a case with North Face and it took 3 weeks to get an RMA opened with me constantly pushing on the team to respond. After the case was finally approved I was told it would take 8+ weeks for repair. There are no options to purchase a replacement. Due to an upcoming camping trip I was forced to purchase and build my own replacement pole which cost me significant time, energy, and money. This is a great tent but save your money and time buy from another company who stands behind their products and customers.

The Right Tent For The Right Kind Of Adventure

We're car campers in a Rivian R1S, usually building out a full basecamp with an awning, lounge tent, and kitchen for longer stays. For our shorter trips though-when we just need to roll in, set up, and get some sleep-the North Face Wawona 6 has become the ideal setup. We already love our Gazelle T-Hex Overland, but the Wawona 6 fits perfectly into the "lighter pack-out" side of our system. Setup is straightforward and fast (about ten minutes with two people), and the structure feels more refined than most tents in this size class. It's tall enough to stand in, the ventilation is excellent, and the front vestibule makes the whole footprint feel bigger than it is. We paired ours with the Wawona XL ground tarp, which extends the vestibule into a small outdoor room-great for muddy shoes, dog towels, or a dry coffee spot when the Pacific Northwest drizzle kicks in. On our last trip, we ran it beside the Kammok Crosswing awning off the Rivian, creating a covered path between vehicle and tent. It's a small thing, but it makes camp life smoother. For anyone car camping with dogs or a mix of gear (coolers, chairs, induction cooktop, projector, etc.), this tent strikes that balance between comfort and agility. It feels built for people who want quality and space without dragging along a full expedition rig. In short: well made, thoughtfully designed, and perfectly suited for car campers who build their setups with intention.

I Would Absolutely Buy This Tent Again!!!

I have used this tent for the past three or four years and it is great!! Very roomy, plenty of head space and room for two full size cots. Once I learned to set it up, it's up in less than 15 minutes. The design really helps keep it dry even if am setting it up in the rain as there is no rain fly! The front vestibule is huge and has plenty of room for my two chairs and table...which is where I have the coffee maker for early morning coffee in bed! The back vestibule is great for gear storage or other non necessities. The two drawbacks are that the big side windows open from the outside of the tent and some water has pooled toward the vestibule, causing a drip. I used an extra pole for the latter to keep the material taught allowing the rain to run off. On the former it's just not that big of a deal, as I prop the vents out on top and leave the front vestibule 1/8th of the way open and she has plenty of ventilation. I have also closed the whole thing up and stayed toasty warm! Dr. J. Seriously I have a PhD in Camping!

    Cold Tent!

The tent is a cold tent. It only be ok for summer.

A Really Great Tent For The Warmer Weather

Impressive tent, easy to setup and and very high quality. However the front screen needs as option to close because it gets cold really fast and easy.

Once You Get The Hang Of It, It Doesn't Take Long To Put Up

First time putting it up took my partner and I over an hour! By the 4th time, 15 minutes tops. A WONDERFUL tent.

    Great Tent

We use this for road trips and camping trips. 2 people. Well thought out design. Super rooomie and easy to set up for such a big tent. Very happy with the tent.

    Needs A Front Door Covering

This tent is not for mild or cold climates. There is no front door, just a screen. In Yellowstone with nightly temperatures in the low 40's. use of any heater is almost useless. I had to velcro a blanket over the outside screen door just to capture warmth from the heater.

    I Love This Tent

Love the ease to set up this tent (especially with 2 people). The tent is spacious and I appreciate the large openings to get my gigantic queen size blow up mattress into the tent inflated. My only (minor) complaint is that the ground cover does not extend into the vestibule area. I wish the dimensions of the vestibule were posted so I could easily buy an alternative ground cover.

I Highly Recommend This Tent And Would Buy Again If Needed.

I use it when I'm camping for more than 3 nights in one area. It allows me to store all my gear that I want to keep dry inside the sleeping area. The vestibule is great for my bike and keeps my camp chairs out of the night time dew. If it rains I can sit or cook and stay dry.

Solid Enough Tent, Needs A Few Improvements To Be Perfect.

This is a very nice tent. We've had ours for a few years, and aren't considering replacing it yet. It's been weathertight and has withstood some heavy winds, and the ventilation is superb. The aluminum poles are not industry standard sizes, and North Face does not sell replacements or repair parts, so you'll need to find a specialist for repair. It would be improved by having solid panels to cover the mesh panels for cold weather. The footprint should have been included for the price, and it appears that people are having some issues with availability, although we got ours at the time of purchase. Still, this is a nice tent. Pack size is reasonable, the vestibule is a luxury, and it sets up easily after the first time. I'm tall, so I can set it up solo unless it's windy. When this one is worn out, another Wawona will be on the list, especially if North Face makes some improvements in the next generation. As an aside, we really like the subdued appearance of the grey/green.

    I'm Planning On Returning It

It was almost the perfect tent. The door between the vestibule and the sleeping section is mesh. There is not way to fully enclose yourself in. So much cold night air and not way to stop it... brutal flaw

    Beware

The first iteration of this tent was epic and I used it for many years. Got the new model last year and it has been rehashed and cheapened drastically and it leaked. Sent it back. Very disappointing.

    Could Use 3 Upgrades....

nice, well made spacious tent with large vestibule. i wish the zipper opening on the fly opens the other way. opening on tent should be D shaped not O. stuff sack should have 2 compression buckles.
