Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Backpack This is my very first North Face backpack and I must say, I'm very impressed with it. I love the design of it and it's super sturdy. I'm the type of person that typically packs a lot (jacket, phone, chargers, laptop, books, ect.) and this backpack seems to be a bit small to me. I also tried to put my 15.4" HP laptop in it and it was a super tight fit. It didn't stick out or anything, it was just really tight in the sleeve that's in the backpack. Other than that, I love the material it's made out of and just the overall backpack in general. I can tell it is well worth the money invested in it. My only cons are the limited amount of space and the laptop sleeve space.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I really wanted to like this! This is such a great bag overall. Construction is stellar, lots of pockets, great use of each compartment. The straps are contoured at the shoulders which is great. In the end, it was just too uncomfortable. The back panel is extremely stiff, with no flexibility at all. The bag will not stand on its own, it always falls forward. It would be nice if it would at least lean against the wall. This may be different when completely filled but even halfway filled it just falls over which unfortunately didn't work for me. Like I said, I really wanted to like this bag, it just didn't have some key things I needed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Buyer beware!, I purchased this same product TWICE, yes twice for my son for school. The first one lasted 6 months when the mesh side pocket he keeps his water bottle developed a hole. The second one lasted 5 months when the same thing happened!! Just a basic Camelbak water bottle was kept in there, nothing more. I have received terrible treatment from warranty. Telling me it's considered "regular wear and tear". To me that's an out for them to not stand behind their product. And for silly Mom's like myself to make the same mistake twice by repurchasing means more money for TNF! Simply put, TNF is not making the quality products they did even 5 years ago and the problem is you once had that awesome "life time warranty" that made customers like myself want to come back. Now, after a decade plus....I'm officially done :( My local store staff were always pleasant and provided such excellent customer service it has been a pleasure to shop there but, the treatment from Warranty is a deal breaker, sorry!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not what I hoped for considering the price I was looking for a backpack that would be great for a day hike, but one I could also use at trainings/conferences for work. I took it to the mountains for a hike, packed water bottle, sweatshirt, wallet, sunglasses, and on the hike a friend asked me to carry her sweatshirt. It was difficult to secure to the front, so I opened the main compartment, and to shove it in. At that point the backpack was completely stuffed. I do like the shoulder strap fit as it more comfortable for a smaller frame. Mine did not come with a built in whistle at the chest buckle. Overall, it's a decent backpack, but not what I hoped for in a $90 backpack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quality, longevity, overall great backpack I have been using this backpack from 4th grade until my senior year of college (16th grade). I have nothing but good things to say about this bag! I also use this as my "adventure backpack". So far, there is not a single rip/tear on the bag, and all of the original zippers, buckles, and straps are still in working order. I have taken this bag mountain biking, snow skiing, traveling in and outside of the US, and it has been used for school 200+ days a year. That is a lot of abuse, and the borealis bag doesn't show it at all! Invest in a quality piece like this, and it'll outlast 10 of the cheap alternatives! I would absolutely recommend this bag, I have gotten a dozen years of use and I plan to get a dozen more. Thanks North Face!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So far, so good! So far, so good! I've only just received this bag but the quality seems great. No issues with loose stitches, etc. I like the fleece lining in the pockets, that's a great idea to keep your phone screen from getting scratched or your phone itself from getting too cold during the winter months. The bag is comfortable on my back and it's great because it actually sits on my back, while all my past bags have hit awkwardly below my back. I'm 5'3" for reference. The straps are really comfortable as well. I can't speak for how well it will hold up, but I'm not anticipating any problems.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Yes This backpack is great; Given, I've only been using it for 2 weeks. The main pocket is the size I was expecting, and it fits my 15" laptop well. The smaller stuff pocket is also great and can hold all my everyday stuff for around camp, including knife, bugspray, first-aid kit, rescue breathing mask etc. The small media pocket on the back is great too, I like the soft lining for my phones and stuff. The side pockets also fit my nalgine perfect. In addition to a good book backpack, It also doubles as a great day-pack for small hikes and whatnot too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect!! I love this backpack!! I can fit my textbooks, lab manuals and laptop in it without a problem. Also, plenty of supplies I would need throughout the day. Great color options and I am extremely happy with mine.
