It is lightweight, yet "warm" (I always layer my clothing) because it protects against the wind and NY/Long Island weather is always unpredictable! And lately in 2024 it's been hitting temperatures in the 30's and even as low as 20F and it's been raining. Heavily. I had to touch my sleeve a couple of times to ensure that I'm still dry which to my delight I was. The only issue (personally for me I don't mind it) is that the sleeves were long on me. I am 5'1 and sort of have short arms and legs so this jacket went past my knees just barely touching my shins. But what really sold me on this is the pockets and how adjustable this jacket it, from the double zippers, all the roomy pockets AND adjustable hood.
