Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect in a hammock I bought this to use in my parachute hammock. I am sleeping in a hammock instead of a tent because it is more comfortable and easier to set up and carry around. The big problem with sleeping in a hammock is losing heat from the air currents under the hammock and all of the hammock camping forums recommend a sleep pad. The therm-a-rest pad was perfect. It was around 32 degrees (F) the night I used it and never felt cold. I am sure this works well on the ground as well. Overall, I love it and plan on buying a few more for my wife and children.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Trusty Classic My Ridgerest has held up through the years and is lightweight and easy to pack! Whether your going hiking or backyard camping, this extremely low maintenance sleeping pad is a great addition to your camping gear. With this pad, you don't have to worry giving it a little abuse in the trail because you know it will hold up to whatever is thrown its way. I have used this pad in a number of different situations, such as a dry place to sit when the ground is wet, under my sleeping bag in a tent, and under a sleeping bag in a hammock and it has exceeded my expectations for performance in every situation. This pad has always cut the chill of cold ground or air beneath me. I highly recommend this product for anyone who wants a no-hassle, trustworthy sleeping pad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Cub Scouts I purchased 2 of these for a Cub Scout Raffle and the Scouts that won did not have a Sleeping Pad. They used them on a Camping trip that weekend and for young Scouts these were perfect. For older Boys or Adults the self inflating Pads or thicker Therma-a-Rest Pads would work out better.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Sleeps Hot, Packs Not We needed an upgrade for my son's sleeping pad as a Boy Scout. We wanted a foldable one that would pack well when he's loaded down for camping trips. The one we wanted was gone, so we got this thinking it could be rolled up. It did, but was still bulky and took up a lot of room. Slept great-waterproof and cushy. Would be fine if you were driving somewhere with a family and could just carry of as is.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Basic Ground Pad I got this for my son, who is a Boy Scout. It's a pretty basic pad, but he said it made a big difference while camping in 20 degree weather. It does add a little bit of cushion, but that's not its primary purpose. Rather, it insulates you from the cold ground, preserving precious body heat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, Durable, WARM, Comfy. Unless you've got a crazy sensitive back, this should be plenty of padding for you..Nice and warm.I've got rather wide shoulders, and i'm 6 foot tall, theres enough room on this, even to stretch out a bit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Basic I have used a ridge rest for many years of backpacking. It has always kept me warm and fairly comfortable. As I get older, and my back gets worse, it is more important to "contour" the ground with a hole for my butt. It is a long night if I don't get it right. Also, I have a large pack and put everything inside the bag, so nothing can drop off during a bushwack. The pad makes a cylinder on the inside of the bag, and everything goes inside it. Protects the pack material from sharp objects also.
