A Little Extra Security

Nice cable locks. Ibiught it to add a little extra security to the bikes while on our hitch rack. I like that ican re-core the lock to match the integrated locks on the rack - BUT - I'd like it better if Thule would have matched them for me when I ordered them (together) or had an exchange program! The lock is easy to use and the coated cable prevents scratches to the bikes. It's added deterrent to theft when we haul the bikes and have to stop.

Don't Waste Your Money

I bought this a couple years ago to secure bikes to the back of my travel trailer during transport so they wouldn't grow legs while stopped overnight. Buddy needed to leave his dirtbike out of the truck for a night while camped so we locked it to my bumper with this, next day I could not get it unlocked so ended up smashing it with an axe so we could separate the dirtbike and leave camp... Will not be buying any Thule standalone lock/cables.

Excellent construction, the lock mechanism stuck a bit but after cycling it a few times it was good.

Handy To Have A Spare

This cable lock is nice and compact which makes it great as a backup to keep for on the road. The only challenge is you will have to deal with fighting the coils out to utlize the full length, it was a bit annoying the first use on a bike rack with two bikes.

Easy Set Up. Works As Advertised

The advertising says it will take 40 pounds off the weight of lifting the kayak. This is exactly correct. My 44 pounder lifts to the roof with ease. My back thanks you.

Not Long Enough

Very good quality and would work well for a few bikes on a hitch rack or standing bikes. It was shown as a good solution for a tailgate lock for bikes, but nowhere near long enough to serve this purpose. I should have measured first and realized it was too short for this. For a tailgate, 6" is long enough for one way, but not long enough to for through the bed lockdowns and loop back to lock.

Works As Stated

I have installed these many times as I switch out locks between accessories. If the lock core is installed properly, you can NOT use the master/installation key to remove the core when it is LOCKED. The person giving 1 star may have a faulty accessory or did not install the core all the way. Or is was unlocked. ;)
