    I bought the Thule Allax S for my French Bulldog, Bowser, and it’s been excellent. The build quality is solid and feels very secure, which was my main concern. It fits well in my car without taking up unnecessary space, and there’s still enough room for my pup and groceries. Bowser seems comfortable and calm inside it, even on longer drives. It’s open enough for my Frenchie to stay cool on long car rides without feeling like he’s in a cage or doggy prison.     I got this crate for my 50 lb. cattle dog mix to ride safely in my 2024 Subaru Forester. She fits snugly in this crate, and it is fine for driving around town, but I think it might be too small for longer road trips. The Medium size was too long to fit in my trunk. I wish there was a Small option that was a little wider. It was very easy to assemble, and I have not had any issues with the function. My dog seems very comfortable as she easily jumps in and out of it, and I feel a lot better keeping her safe in the car :)

    Really Diggin' This Crate!

    So far the Allax crate has been amazing. There is plenty of airflow and it's very solid construction. Not made of plastic, which is an absolute plus--especially if your pet gets nervous and attempts to chew the crate. It's perfect for my flat-coat retriever puppy. I am concerned that I may have bought the wrong size (based it off of Thule's recommendation for golden retriever - since flatties should be about the same size), but not sure he'll be able to stand up and turn around when he's fully grown. Guess we'll see. For now it fits two puppies (just for a short distance) so I can take my flattie and his cousin for a small adventure!

    The kennel is too small and will be returned. The base is big enough for him to lay down but he can’t sit up or stand due to the angle of the sides.

    Affordable And Flexible Safety Solution

    I've had this kennel for about a month now and am happy with the design and the fit. I have the Allax in medium in the trunk of my 2022 VW Taos. I would say it just barely fits and the back seats must be folded down unfortunately. If absolutely necessary, it does fit sideways in the trunk with the seats up but the entrance becomes narrow for my dog. The small would've likely fit better but the medium is better for my 60lb lab. It was super easy to assemble and install. Minimal noise when traveling, but it does creak when the vehicle is very cold (-20c ish). In comparison to the other crash tested car kennels, I'd say this one is superior as it does not need to be custom fit to your car.
