I've had this bike rack for about nine months now and the more I use it, the more I dislike it. So many moving parts and it's very cumbersome. With the two clamps side by side between the frame, if you don't turn your pedals just right, the bike gets knocked out of position and you need to keep readjusting. I'm also not impressed with the clamp itself. The only position in which I can secure it has already damaged the bike frame (picture attached). The lock seems very flimsy too. Already the key gets stuck unless I jostle it a bit. Even locked, it doesn't seem secure - like one good pothole and it could easily pop open. I've resorted to a bike lock as a fourth measure of security since I don't trust the rack. The ramp to load and unload the bike. Not a bad idea, but definitely room for improvement. Depending upon temperature, the ramp requires brute force to either insert or remove. I miss the arm hooks of my old rack. They were far more secure and didn't do any damage to my bike. The Thule EasyFold XT is the most disappointing purchase I've ever made.

Short Holder Bar Is Too Short To Secure E-bike
Clean design and easy to use. The Clamp system length does not work well with Specialized Turbo Vado E bikes, as the reach on the short arm is not long enough to adequately secure the forward bike. The long arm does secure the rear bike well. The short arm needs to be about four inches longer in order to properly grab the forward bike. Thule should produce more variety in arm lengths in order to properly accommodate two e-bikes that both have step over frames. I am considering ordering a replacement long arm, cutting the arm bar to the required length, and cutting and threading the internal rod to length, to allow it to work with my two step-over frame E-Bikes.

Loading Ramp Way Too Short
The rack itself is nice what I have an issue with is the little plastic ramp. I own an SUV AND A SILVERADO full sized truck. That ramp is too short I thought you sold one that was 4 ft. The only one I see is 3 ft. I need this ramp for my e bike.

Don’t Buy It
I’ve had the EasyFold XT for about a year. The clamps are difficult to use, it is difficult to angle them to get a good fit. After about 15 uses the rubber on the clamp tore… May have torn when my bike fell off the rack. I will not use this product anymore.

Don’t Depend On Ramps Or Warrant
We’ve had this rack for two years and it has been great but now the ramp won’t attach. We called Thule and they said we have to fill out online form which requires uploading 3 videos or pictures which is not easy for all people. Seems like they are purposefully making it hard to submit a claim on the lifetime warranty.

Upgrade From Other Racks.
The only complaint about this rack is the price but it is actually worth it to me. It has a superior design and toe hitch with the pin lock is better than the otd pin and nut one or key. My wife can actually load the e bikes with the hidden ramps and wheel it around rather than lugging around the old. The hinge foot pedal works effortlessly and allows access to the rear hatch of our X3.

What Is The Deal With The Clamps?

Not For Lectric Ebikes
Purchased this bike rack in February. The clamps do not fit the square/rectangular frame of the Lectric bikes and are not adjustable for the length from the frame to the bikes. Very disappointed in this product.

Not Suitable For 2nd Bike If 1st Bike Is An E-bike
I have an electric bike that has the battery built into the approx. 45° angle down tube. We couldn't find any place on the U shape that would allow for attachment with the long arm to a 2nd traditional bike as the e-bike blocked everything up. To secure the 2nd bike we used the wheel straps and a rope to tie the bike to the frame. Happily it was for short medium medium speed distances, I would not do a highway or long distance trip with a 2nd bike secured in this manner. My positive feeling is that the locking system is terrific.

My Ebike Came Off This Rack!!!
Two Specialized Vados here. Had this rack one year. Difficult to jockey bikes into position so pedals and handlebars don't tangle and hit frames. Clamps do not close entirely around frame and despite being tightened and locked both bikes loosened up several times. Luckily we noticed and pulled over to retighten. The last time this happened my bike hit the pavement and was dragged. The only thing keeping it on the rack were the ratchet straps. Completely ruined the handlebar, shift and brake assembly.
