I bought this a month ago and I am so please with my Thule - Thule Hull-a-Port XTR Kayak Rack. It is so easy to install and use.

We slapped this rack on top of our Toyota factory racks. They were easy to fit and securely held our pretty long kayak. I haven't tried with 2 boats yet.

Facile à installer et à utiliser. S’installe en quelques minutes et se retire tout aussi facilement, donc aucune raison de laisser le tout en place quand on en a pas besoin. Bye bye le bruit des supports à kayak.

This mount is super easy to use and dont mess up the look of your car if you care at all. They are sturdy and I havent had anything break on me after using it more than ten times so far.

Bought 2 of the kayak holders and they were so easy to assemble. Only problem we had and continue to have are the bow and stern cords. It didn’t really come with a racket like all the videos show. It’s been tough knowing how to assemble the cord to the piece they gave us. Still trying to figure it out. If anyone knows of a video that would be great. Excited to use these soon if it ever stops raining here in Maine.

The Hull - a - port is easy to install. Takes a few minutes tops and holds my 10 foot kayak securely to the roof of my crosstrek.

Very happy with the new updated rack , the strap system used to attach the kayak rack to the load bars is a big upgrade from older models

Purchased 2 sets of the Hull-a-port for our Wrangler JK. Used the the Jeep brand cross bars and the Thule J hooks fit perfectly. Very easy to put on and take off the cross bars. Our kayaks fit perfectly on the Hulu-a-ports and are very secure. We paid extra for the best and we are not disappointed…would highly recommend and would buy them again.

I have 3 of these carriers. They are solid, sturdy add-ons to my roof rack. One of my kayaks is an unwieldy 72 lb tandem. The design of the rack helps us slide it up on top and into the carrier.

I Bought these racks for a 10 Hour trip to North Carolina. these things are absolutely rock steady. The steel Straps that attach to your cross bars don't slip a millimeter during transit. also the strap guide on the top bar of these racks are great so you can set the strap and fold it up without having to climb up on the car to do so. Very pricey as far as kayak racks go but worth every penny in piece of mind.

Like another reviewer, I too have problems with the rack sitting flush on the load bars (evo). This results in the hull of the boat only making partial contact with the hull-a-port base pad. I assume these would work much better on the square bars vs evo. On the plus side, the straps are a nice upgrade from previous generation which uses a nut and bot to fasten to load bars.

The Hull-a-Port XTR is simple and easy to use. We've had one for years and recently purchased a second since we now have 2 kayaks. Thule have improved the two things that bothered me: the attachment to the rail and the clip to hold the tie-down straps. The new rail attachment uses a strap passing under the rail which works much better than the old pincer mechanism. On our old Hull-a-Port, the tie down strap would always fall out of the holder at the top of the loop, the new design fixes that problem by narrowing the gap.

I got this product about a month ago and tested with my 10ft kayak. Overall the product is good but I would add extra support and cushion to the places where the kayak is seated on. You can even see it on the image of the product page. Since the kayak is not straight but has a bit of an oval shape, it is not seated 100% on each of the supports. I am a bit scared that if a get a bump on the road the kayak might crack right open at the spot where its barely touching the rack.

I love my new roof rack and kayak rack systems from Thule. Service was good and the product is everything it’s hyped up to be. It was easy to find the right system for my vehicle, easy to order and install. I had a question about my billing and it was answered promptly. What they said would happen happened and all was good. I would definitely recommend dealing with Thule.
