I’m having the same issue as other reviewers. I have only used this product once before and the key doesn’t work. I’ve been struggling for 15 minutes. Can someone from Thule reach out to help me release the key and or replace my product? It is faulty.

Here in South Texas we don't have salt and many issues with corrosive chemicals especially when pulling a 42 foot 5th Wheel. It is apparent the se Thule locks are worthless in getting them off yet your costs of their replacements are excessive. If the were reliable units maybe! Will not recommend friends to purchase these unreliable units.

this thing is garbage, and absolutely NOT worth the money that it costs. every coming winter i would take my thule bike rack off of my car, which meant taking the snug-tite receiver lock off. and every time, without failure, it would take me like 10-15 minutes to get the key to turn enough to release the lock. the thing finally totally seized up and even after several wd-40 applications, this thing is toast. i'm pretty sure i'm going to have to cut the actual pin with some kind of grinder to get off. very frustrating.

I cannot unlock the hitch lock stl2. Noone in my family can do it either no matter how many youtubes or any other on-line instructions. I need to get the bike rack off of my car. Please help. I am about ready to destroy the bike rack to get it off of my car. Since I could not unlock the hitch, I tried to put the cap back on and cannot get it back on.

The bolt and lock have worked great; but it got cross threaded and neither I nor my mechanic can remove it. Since the threads are hidden, we can't just cut off the bolt head. I'm looking for ideas on how to get the lock pin system free from the trailer hitch. Can't recommend if this is going to cost me my bike rack and my hitch.

I bought this a couple years ago to secure my hitch mount bike rack to the back of my travels trailer. Tried to remove it after the first season and couldn't get it to unlock, it was -10c so I assumed it was frozen and left it on the trailer for winter storage. Beginning of the next season I tried to remove it again but still could not. I needed the bike rack on our SUV this fall so spent an hour jiggling, oiling and heating with no luck so I resorted to brute force and popped the lock off the end of the bolt by simply wedging a wrench under the lock and unscrewing thee bolt from the rack... The way this is designed the lock hangs with the open hole toward the top so you are guaranteed to get water/dirt/salt inside causing it to seize. I was able to tap a bolt into he little cover plate and salvage my code-matched cylinder for something else. I will not be buying any more Thule standalone locks/cables.

I left my last one on my bumper and drove off...ordered and delivered fast. I would have paid more if it came standard with my Thule bike rack.

The Snug Tite lock works very well. It fits properly and will keep my bicycles from being stolen. All the Thule products I have owned live up to a good reputation

It is odd that they call it “snug Tite” as the lock hangs on the pin loosely and not snug against the hitch. But I have to trust the engineering that the rack is securely held and reasonably secure from theft. It was easy to install and seems like a well made product.

Have had less than a week but knowing the bike rack is locked is of great comfort.

I was told by a friend that no one is going to steal your bike rack off your car, but being a frequent urban visitor, I wanted peace of mind. This item was easy to install, with detailed and amusing graphic instructions.

I bought this product to secure my also recently purchased Thule Camber 4 . I have a 2” reciever, yet the lock I received does not seem to fit exactly. The lock mechanism itself is nearly an inch , 15/16 to be precise; away from the receiver . It is left to flop and swing around during travel. I’ve made a spacer , 15/16 in length, 1” OD and 3/8 clearance. This is installed between lock and hitch , stopping the lock from movement. Why would this be required? Pretty disappointed in this design.
