The Thule® Trailway 4-Bike Hitch Rack provides multiple frame spots for you and your fellow cycling enthusiasts. This car rack fits both 1¼” and 2” receivers with the included adaptor. Fit up to 4 bikes in the anti-sway cages for secured protection. When you’re away from the trails, the switch levers allow arms to fold down and tilt the carrier away from the vehicle.

I was very impressed with the bike rack parts when I unpacked the box. They are solid and feel very heavy-duty. Installation was fairly straightforward. I have a 1.25 inch receiver, and was able to remove the 2-inch adapter. (I have a Chevy Camaro and bought a Curt hitch receiver through the Chevrolet Parts website.) ONE NOTE ON USING THE STRAPS - you may be inclined to tighten the straps as tightly as possible. If you do so, you may have difficulty undoing the straps. This is because the release tab on the strap may not have enough clearance for the strap to be released as you press the tab. In other words, you are pressing the tab against the bike frame and the tab won't go down far enough. Here is one solution: place a rag or t-shirt in between the bike frame and the strap before you tighten it. Then, when it is time to remove the bike, pull the rag/t-shirt out. That should leave enough clearance in order to press the release tab all the way. After securing the bike on the rack, I secured the front wheel with a bungee cord to keep it stationary. Faulty Product
I bought this rack last week and it got delivered yesterday. The 2-inch adapter came attached to it, but the bolt on it was jammed. I needed to use the 1.25inch hitch rod, but could not get the adapter off. The bike shop guys tried to get it off using mechanical, electric means, oiling it and using air pressure, but no luck. It is a third-rate bolt jammed tight into the adapter. Very unfortunate, I'll have to return it.

Very Satisfied With This Bike Rack
Was considering Yakima and Thule and settled on this Thule bike rack. Big enough to hold all of our bikes. Installation was fairly straight forward. The rack can be tilted down in order to gain access to the trunk.

Measure Your Receiver
It says fits any 2” receiver. Not true. I have curt receiver it doesn’t even remotely fit. it’s very loose allows the rack to slide/move. 4 inches left 4 inches right . It also requires a screw in receiver, pen that Dicks Sporting Goods does not sell

Do Not Buy!
They have over complicated a simple product. Not to mention the cradle that your bike sits in is hard black plastic, marring your Frame & leaving black stains. Not one of my family bikes would fit on it…..unless it’s a 1960’s ten speed definitely not made for any kind of mountain or childrens bike.

Thule Trailway 4-bike Hitch
I bought this product about a month ago and it was very easy to install. Although I have not fully used this $300 bike rack bc the weather and time has not permitted. My only concern is that the price for this product did not come with a lock to secure it from being stolen. This led me to purchase a Thule Snug Tite one key bike lock for an additional $70. I hope that it fits properly to avoid any swaying and being prevents anyone trying to steal the bike rack.
