Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Boot Purchased this boot for my son. He wanted a good boot for hiking and based on other reviews and give the price, I thought this was a good buy, and it was. He started wearing them to work to "break them in" and hasn't stopped wearing them He says they are very comfortable and is glad I got them. Haven't been able to go on a hike just yet, but he really appreciates the purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good fit with comfort I bought these a couple of weeks ago. They fit nicely and give support. These come in a medium width which is what I need. Not much else to say this early in the game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First pair lasted me 10 years. Time for some new ones. The Chocorua was my first "real" pair of boots. I bought them about 12 years ago for attending a summer camp, as well as other various camping trips. Over 10 years later, they are finally worn out... and by that, I mean the sole has worn down almost smooth. The leather upper and insides are still usable; With a flat sole, the boot doesn't give me a peace-of-mind anymore. I've only had to replace the laces once, and I think that was my fault. Overall, the material used is very high quality, and the Gore-Tex never failed me. Here's to another 10 years with my next pair! I love these boots!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Wide size Initially tried Merrell Moabs but they were narrow on my heel. Went back and tried the Timberlands, which felt good from the start. The tongue is a little odd and bulky. They seem to be worth the price tag. Good leather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove, as promised; tough? I just got and wore these boots. As others have said, they fit right out of the box. The wide is not really a EEE, but it's wider than most. The exterior clearly will not take the type of beating a ridgetop trail like the AT will give it. These are not Vasques. I would buy them if you want an affordable, comfortable, light, Gore-Tex hiker. Time will tell. I'm tough on boots. bob

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Boot I like the boots, the shoelaces not so much. The shoelaces broke after wearing the boots about 4 or 5 times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from rugged exterior and waterproof design makes it a very attractive shoe we bought them and the next day took a rugged twelve mile hike and felt no discomfort at all. No break-in needed
