I bought these for winter work like construction projects and snow blowing, as well as commuting to my job as a ski patroller and walking my dog. They are comfortable, warm, and fit well. Unfortunately, the soles are pretty horrible on snow. They are some of the most slippery soles I have worn in the snow. I never really thought about this before on any other boots I have worn, because they were all good in the snow. I have spent years on steep snowy slopes in the mountains, and now I have to worry about slipping while walking my dog. Timberland should be more careful to test the materials they use in the real world.
