Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3rd pair for 4 years of working These were my first true work boots. I bought them when I was 19 years old going into a shop that worked 12 hours a day 7 days a week 90% of the year. I wore the soles of these boots smooth. I had holes in both toes and the steel toes black coating worn shiny. With all that abuse in just over a year they were still comfortable but I figured it was time to retire them. I bought my second pair and did the same thing. Took a little more care made them last a little longer. Now I'm on the 3rd pair and I've already got another pair just waiting for these to retire. They are that good. I wish they lasted 5 years but for me that's just not possible

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these boots I use these boots in rail yards and rights of way walking on stable and unstable surfaces, inside rail cars and outside on ROW ballast climbing stairs and ladders. These boots are very comfortable, so much so I look forward to putting them on. These are the lightest STB's I have even worn, even compared to Sketchers STB style running shoe. I would recommend to any and everyone. I would buy another pair, even if the soles fell off. I replaced the laces with longer laces so I could put an extra half-hitch between eyes to keep the laces pulled tight when tying and to prevent the knots from coming undone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ON MY WAY TO GET ANOTHER PAIR I am a remodel carpenter involved in all sorts of construction activities. Climbing ladders, cruising wheelbarrows, climbing scaffolding, demolition work, you name it. These boots are the best. I read a couple bad reviews here about quality and I dont understand. Im about to get my 20th pair and I have never had ANY PROBLEMS with build quality of boot. It feels like a tennis shoe, its that light and comfortable. The only reason I buy them frequently is I do a lot painting and they end up looking bad before they wear out. I dont even look at other boots , I just get more of these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good boots Two weeks in, good quality, progressive sole when walking(rolls forward well-easy on the legs and feet to push off) very stable, shock absorption is good, not the soft floating on air feeling I was hoping for but not too far off. They are light considering they do look a little clunky with the thick sole and high toe box (can't say I've noticed any increase in room in toe box though) Obviously, as it is with every shoe, ever, arch support is pathetic I think manufacturers put the little bump in the arch area for aesthetics. So I put arch supports in them from day three. I'm a machinist so I stand a lot for hours on concrete and overall I'm happy with these boots.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Expecting more I was a Diehard boot fan for decades an their quality went out the door. I had always heard good things about Timberlands. They were and are pricey. The main problem I see with reviews are most people post them to early when things are new. I take care of my boots, I do construction yet I don't intentionally abuse them. I try to get one year out of them. This pair only lasted 6 months. The boots ended up falling apart. The strings were the first to go, the rings next and then the soles. As a gift I got the Timberland Pro 6 soft toe and found to be a much better boot.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Soles come apart in years time. After a year of use the soles start to separate at the inner and outer portion about where the foot bends the sole when walking. These were worn mainly for dress the first year while using an older pair for work. the older pair separated in the same location but was reglued by a local shoe repair shop. The repair on the older pair did not work so now I have two pairs of the same boot that separated the sole in the same spot. I have a new pair that is now just a year old that is still being used for Sunday dress due to the snow and ice in my area. Watch out for the soles. I will not buy another pair of these boots as the one year date only warrantee is useless unless you wear them 24/7.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Falling apart after just 4 months This was the first time, and the last time, I bought a pair of workboots from Timberland. I usually wear Red Wing boots, but availability and price made me consider these. After only 4 months, the insoles came out all together. Just read another review here from a customer who has had the exact same problem, and apparently Timberland refused to repair them. I should have known not to expect job-site quality from a fashion-footwear company. These are for looks, not work. Go to Red Wing instead. Not only do their workboots last years before the soles need replacing, but Red Wing replaces them for you FREE. If you're going to spend $100+ on a pair of boots, give it to a company that not only stands by their product, but makes a durable and reliable product in the first place. Save your Timbs for the club.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from These boots have issues that need to be addressed Likes these boots at first but that changed quickly. My right boot has a larger seem in the back and it rubs the back of my heel raw. I thought it just needed to be broken in but it never wore the boot in just tore up my heel. The leather on the steel toe portion of the boot also wears and gets torn up very easily (pretty much destroyed). Because of this I no longer wear the boots. Wish they would fix these problems the insoles are very comfortable, boot has good grip and feet arent fatigued at the end of a 12 hour shift (other than my heel).
