This snorkel works great! What l did not realize was that l would need a nose plug because the water crept up my nose while swimming and that after a while my mouth got dry. These things are no fault of the snorkel, just things l wish l knew beforehand.

It's An "Ultralight" Weight Center-mounted Swim Snorkel.
I’ve been using the FINIS “Original Swimmer’s Snorkel” for several years with no problems until the plastic connection for the head strap to the center-mount broke. Since it was clear plastic, it disappeared forever in the deepest depth of the swimming pool. I was going to buy another FINIS, but my local DICK’S store only sold the TYR 2.0 Ultralite Snorkel. I was familiar with TYR swim products so I decided to buy it. The FINIS and the TYR are similar in design. The TYR is “ultralite” compared to the FINIS, but I’m not too sure of its lightweight benefits, if any. The TYR has two detachable cardio caps to restrict the oxygen flow. The “blue” cap would be like sucking air through a large straw. I use the larger “green” cap. There is also the option of not using any of the cardio caps for more oxygen flow. As with a swim goggle, getting the head strap to fit securely and comfortably took some adjustment on my first use. You want it to be tight, but not too tight. The only noticeable difference between the FINIS and TYR are the head straps. The FINIS uses a head strap similar to those used on swim masks. The TYR head strap is a rubber-like cord that I suspect will break or snap from fatigue (exposure to chlorine, sun, and tension pulling over the head). I don’t know how easy, or if it’s possible, to replace the TYR head strap; but I’m already thinking about it.

I Returned It ....
Tried the Try based on swim magazine reviews. Unfortunately it wasn't for me. The section that holds the mouth piece is not flexible and as such I had a hard time using it. I returned it and got a Finis that has a very flexible section and it works much better for me.

Great For Training!
I was hesitant to purchase a swim snorkel but am so glad I did. It allows me to focus solely on form and also gives my neck some relief for longer sessions. I've read some reviews that said you have to bite the mouthpiece unusually hard to keep water out, but this has not been my experience at all. I've had no issues with water leaking in, but there is a purge valve should this happen. There are 2 different caps that you can switch out to increase or decrease breathing resistance as well, and it comes with a mesh bag for storage. I do recommend using a nose clip with the snorkel.

Net Bag It Came In Was The Only Good Thing About This Purchase, I Did Indeed Return.
I have purchased items by this brand have been satisfied. They sure missed the boat on this snorkel. The mouth piece did not have smooth edges and give me sore gums. The head piece was hard at the forehead, and most importantly it was $12.00 more than the one I have. Have been swimming 3- 4 days a week for a good 5 years with a snorkel.

Improve Swimming
Bought this to add to my swim workouts. Works as expected and provides a way to improve lung function as well as improve my kicking. I have stopped using the kickboard and stick to the snorkel for leg isolation work.

Excellent Snorkle For Swimmer Who Can't Get Breathing Down Right
Love it. Can't get shoulder up to breath properly. The mouth piece works great with my partial. It has increased the number of laps I can do. Great for the noncompetitive person who swims for exercise.

Tyr Snorkel Is Amazing
Training for a triathalon, this was an amazing product. Helped with my confidence. Has three options for air flow control, made me stronger in the water and I'm no aqua man.
