Major Sizing Issues

I bought a size 9 as that is what I wear in most brands and it was impossible to get on (I have very narrow feet also). I changed it for a size up and I still couldn't get my foot halfway into the shoe even though the length of this shoe was over an inch longer than some I currently own. Not sure who these fit or if they're just inconsistent with sizing but I was bummed because they looked super cool online and I was worried they'd be too big on my skinny legs.
