Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great durable and tough rod. I use this rod exclusively for big channel cats on the Red River that weigh up to 30 pounds. In the fast current and heavy weights this rod standso up to all the cats can dish out and more. I use the 7 foot two piece for ease of transport. This rod is tough and durable, virtually indestructible. I highly recommend this product. The glow in the dark tip provides high visibility while bank fishing as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Continued Success I recently added another Ugly Stik rod to my arsenal. True to the other 7 Ugly Stiks that I use, the new Catfish Spinning Rod provides; the strength, sensitivity, and control that I've come to expect from every rod carrying the Ugly Stik name. The success I have experienced in over 20 years of owning an Ugly Stik, has made Ugly Stik the ONLY rod I will use! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for casting for Rockfish My older Ugly Striper rods are wearing out due to overuse. They were perfect for shallow-water casting for Rock on the Chesapeake. These Catfish rods have a closer to the original Striper action.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Strong backbone for big fish I purchased two of the seven foot one piece medium heavy catfish sticks for the sole purpose of fighting big catfish below Chickamauga dam in Chattanooga. No disappointment here. I have boated two 50 and one 60 pounder and it has been fun watching these rods bend and take the stress a big fish can put on a rod. I highly recommend these rods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My go to rod of choice This is a solid rod for the money. I caught quite a few catfish with it and has never let me down. I consistently catch 10 lb plus cats with it and the biggest being a 18 lber and handled her like a boss. My friends are impressed with the performance made them go out and purchase one as well. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Rods I have three of these rods that I bought new about nine years ago. They have never failed me on catfish from five pounds up to eighty pounds. A buddy went fishing with me one day and he used one of my Ugly Stik catfish rods. He landed an 80 pound blue catfish with it....I love them. There has been hundreds of catfish caught with these rods of mine and if one ever fails then I will get another one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good rod for fishing big baits. I got this rod last season and love it. I use it to fish large deadbaits for pike, as it can handle casting large baitfish. I've caught quite a few 40+ inch pike on it and it performs beautifully when fighting large fish. If it was a little lighter it would also be good for fishing big lures, but since that isnt really what it was designed for I suppose I cant complain too much.
