Just like any other helmet on the outside. I guess the inside cushioning is the difference. My son is 9 yo and I had to get him the adult size.

I have a big head size 7 3/4 and tried a few helmets on from Easton, Rawlings but they were not as comfortable as Under Armour’s. Great price with the jaw guard included.
