These don’t have any padding. Slider shorts should have some padding to offer protection. These are just bike shorts.

Perfect!

I didn’t buy these for softball, to wear as a base layer under my running shorts. There is no padding in these shorts, which makes them perfect as a base layer and not so perfect as a slider short. For the purpose that I bought these for, they are perfect. Length is great and they fit true to size. They are a little thicker material than most thin base layers are, but they are super breathable.
