Rated 3 out of 5 by from not for everyone The anchor design is cool. It folds up and packs away nicely. However, the "arms" can act as tentacles when the anchor is on the water's bottom. They grab ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING nearby and they don't let go. I've had my new yak out three times so far this season and have been forced to cut this anchor off at the cleat all three times. Yes, it took me three times ($13 PLUS PER...) to realize this anchor isn't for me or my set up. I believe the anchor weighs 3 lbs. The yak came with one that is 1.5 pounds. I think I'll use that one as a sinker. I am an experienced paddler and have had numerous yaks over my lifetime. Two of the three anchors I lost were lost to avoid flipping over in heavy winds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for light kayaks I've used this product many times in both freshwater and saltwater. It has saved my bacon and enabled me to catch large fish in conditions where the wind or current would have carried me over an area and spooked the fish. The light-weight yet durable construction makes this ideal for holding a kayak in light to moderate wind or current conditions with a sandy bottom and in any conditions with a more firm or rocky bottom.Using an anchor trolley system in connection with this anchor can enable you to face in any direction without pulling up your anchor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for small boat I bought this to use in assisting me to get my Bass Hunter up close to bank or dock when I need to get out. I just throw it up on bank and pull my boat close.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my kayak! Already used this new one and it anchors my 14' pro angler perfectly even with loose bottom and strong current.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Anchors Away! The anchor works very well for my application on my fishing kayak. I have attached an additional length of galvanized chain to help the anchor position its self correctly and add slightly more weight. It has good holding power but, be sure to have enough anchor line to make it work properly. Its compact size is ideal for storing away in my equipment crate located in the rear of my kayak. Finally, I would recommend you place the entire contents in a sturdy carry mesh bag for transport. Good Luck and Good Fishing!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It'll do the job The parts are not as easily moved as on other similarly priced anchors. I needed one for the next day, so this one will work. If you have time, order a nicer one online for the same price; or even cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Effective! I use this for fishing off my kayak. Compact, lightweight and easy to set up. When set up properly, there is no worry of ever losing it. Does what it's supposed to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Weight Works great with my 12' angler kayak. I like that I can use it upside down for fear that the grapple may get stuck in a tree.
