It's tough to find a quality glove for a youth player 7-9 years old. This glove will fit a smaller, weaker hand pretty well but it is small, thus the pocket is small. If you're using a 10 inch ball, I recommend this glove, 11 inch ball maybe, and 12 inch ball no. It is listed as a softball glove, but I'm not sure, it may be a baseball glove. Also, you get what you pay for. The materials feel cheap and the glove arrives pretty soft and broken in. However, over time I do not think the glove will hold shape, and I'm guessing it will become floppy. Great glove for a beginner, small hand, 8u player, etc. Its tough to find those middle range gloves that are a step up from the plasticky tee ball glove but not the $300 advanced glove. This glove does a decent job of being in that mid-range.
