The Blade 98 (16x19) V9 has a sharper, more stable response that produces a more connected-to-the-ball feel. Featuring a new Emerald Night matte finish, the V9 has a braided graphite + basalt frame with a DirectConnect carbon fiber handle for enhanced torsional stability. As a 4.5–5.0 league player, this racket has been a great fit for my game. I like to play all-court, similar to a Federer style, and the Blade 98 16x19 V9 really delivers on control, feel, and versatility. The biggest strength is the precision. From the baseline, I can take full swings and trust that the ball will stay in. It’s especially strong on one-handed backhands and slicing, where the feel really stands out. The 16x19 pattern also gives me plenty of spin when I need margin or want to shape shots. At the net, it’s super solid and stable. Volleys feel clean and controlled, and I don’t get pushed around when returning pace. Serves are another highlight. I can hit my spots consistently and mix in spin without losing control. This isn’t a beginner racket. You need to generate your own pace, but if you’re an experienced player who values placement, feel, and an all-court game, this racket really shines. Overall, it’s a high-level player’s frame that rewards good technique and shot-making.

Amazing racquet more suitable for intermediate and advanced players! Pinpoint precision with good feel. Stiffer than the last version but still comfortable. Respectfully, if you don’t know this racquet doesn’t come with strings, you probably have no business playing with it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I demoed this racket for a couple days and it worked very well for my game. I went ahead and purchase and I’m looking forward to use them and have a more clear opinion on them. So far I know it’s solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great racquet that helps me for serve a lot and also right balance for my forehand and backhand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I switched to this racquet from the Blade 98 V8 after extensive play testing. Although the specs on the V9 are similar, I felt the way they played is actually quite different. The V9 plays a little bit more head-heavy but is also a much more stable racquet. The pros: the stability of the V9 helped a lot on volleys, especially when you’re stretched out and reaching for one. Service returns improved a lot too. If you’re up against a big server the stability and head weight will help block the ball back without a big swing. I’m getting more drive on my ground strikes too. The cons: it took me a while to adjust to the additional power and I started out over hitting on short balls. I might be giving up a little bit of spin too; on ground strokes and serves. Nothing significant and the added power is worth it, but it’s an adjustment.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my 13yr old son. He tried it and many other demos. This was the one that he fell in love with. He's used it at school practice everyday and a few matches. He's hitting the ball a lot closer to the net with better top spin. Overall, he is feeling a lot more comfortable with this one than his last racket.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been using the Blade 98 (16x19) for the past two months, and it quickly became my go-to racquet. As a player who hits flat and fast, this frame fits my style perfectly. The control is exceptional—very precise on groundstrokes and volleys, and I feel completely connected to the ball. The racquet helps me stay aggressive without sacrificing accuracy. Where it really surprised me was on the serve. I naturally hit a fast, flat serve, and the Blade 98 gives me explosive power with pinpoint placement. My serve has never felt so clean and confident. I was so impressed, I just bought two more to complete my match rotation. If you’re a player who thrives on fast pace, clean ball striking, and controlled aggression, the Blade 98 16x19 is a perfect fit.

I bought this a few weeks ago and have absolutely loved every single piece of it.

I’ve been playing with the Blade for a few years now (V7 and V8 as well) and have played with the V9 since it came out last year. I would never try anything else, couldn’t switch. And my strings are Wilson as well. It’s great.

Before purchasing, I had been using a V6 and needed an upgrade. The V9 didn't disappoint. Same great feel and control with updated technology and a clean, emerald metallic finish.

My Kid has been using Wilson Rackets for over 5 years now and he likes them very much. He's upgraded his past racket with Blade 98 (16x19) V9 Tennis Racket

No where on the description does it say that this racquet is unstrung. In fact, it says it has a 16x19 string pattern. Apparently “open string pattern” means unstrung - that’s what customer service told me. 6 out of the 7 photos show the racquet strung. Only if you scroll to the second to last photo you see an unstrung racquet.

Played with some racquets so far, 3-4 months each.. Pure Drive (2021), Pure Aero 100 (2023), Pure Strike 98 3rd gen (2020), Head Radical MP (2023), Head Speed (both 2020 and 2022), Yonex Ezone 98 and 100 (2022), Tecnifibre Tempo 298 IGA, Wilson Blade v7 and finally v8.. I really liked v7 and when v8 was out i thought Blade is going some other direction but v9 proved BLADE is back! It is as good as v7. Compared to v7 in some areas stronger/better maybe and slighly poor/worse in some others but overall great racquet. (I use hybrid strings; main poly -22- /cross multifilament -23-)
