Great Irons

Great irons in terms of performance, designs and look!!! I bought this great set of irons from a Canadian retailor in early 2021. I am still very enjoying these irons after started swing from 5 months ago. Based on the above impression and feedback, I would have given 5-stars without any hesitation. However, I gave 3-star instead due to a minor quality issue. The black color decorated painting on the back side of the iron started fading away after a few months of use. The more I used (i.e. 8-iron), the condition is worse compared to less used (i.e. 4-iron). I wish Wilson improves this part of quality control in the future product development.

Clubs Started To Rust After 2 Weeks

These are great clubs for an older person BUT THEY RUST. I am on the practice range .every day and clean the clubs in the club cleaner on the range. A bucket of water with opposing brushes. After drying them carefully i put them up right on the station club rack. !0 minutes later I pick them up and in shaking the head water drops come out. THE POWER CHAMBER IS NOT SEALED AROUND THE EDGES,So water gets in behind the plate. Initially I started to see rust around the edge of the POWER PLATE of the Pitching wedge that I use most. Rust appeared within 2 weeks. Now after 2 months all the irons show the same problem. I have written to consumer help at Wilson's and been given the brush off even after repeated attempts. Obviously Wilson refuse to admit that they have a major problem. For the average person who goes to the range rarely and just cleans the surface with a wet towel ( but does not clean the grooves ) this rust problem will not appear for several years. The Wilson can ignore the complaint with specious reasoning. i have requested to talk to a manager in the design department but Wilson will not respond.

Good Irons But 2 In Set Have Failed

I've had problems recently with the set of D7 irons that I bought through AG last Summer, they were custom fit so I waited a long time for them and although generally they have been good to play with now both the 5 and 7 iron have developed the same fault where the rubber strips on the base of the head have pushed inside. The 5 iron failed first and this took Wilson 3 weeks to repair and now the 7 has just gone in an I expect the same return time. In peak golfing season to be without these clubs is not good! I would have expected the quality of clubs to be better than this or at least expected Wilson to resolve the issue in a more timely fashion

Wilson Staff Is Back

I have played Wilson Staff in the 70s and 80s and it seemed like all good players did. I’ve been waiting for them to get back to the top and they got it right this time. D7 Forged are the real deal. Look great, feel fantastic and go through the ground perfectly. They are long and forgiving. I am totally happy with them. I would recommend them to anyone. If you demo clubs you should add them to your list to try. As far as the mean review I’m sure if you contact Wilson they will be happy to take care of you. Mistakes can happen even to the best. Have you never made a mistake. Also different companies have different specs. There are no universal standards anymore.
