Wilson Omega Football

About This Item

Football is a game of inches, and every one counts when you’re going for the win. Introducing Omega, with 4 times more tech than any other ball on the market and designed to optimize every stage of your throw. Omega features all-new, cutting-edge REVTECH by Wilson. Redistributed weight on the ball's interior increases revolutions on every throw, meaning a faster spin. A faster spinning ball takes less effort to get to your exact destination. The result is higher accuracy, more velocity, and longer distances. Pair higher RPMs with added grip features like Prime stitching, ACL lace, and sewn-on stripes, and Omega will transform your game — forever. Don't change your throw. Change your ball.

PERFORMANCE TECHNOLOGIES:

  • REVTECH - Redistributed interior weight provides 3-8% higher spin rate, equates to 60 more RPM’s for better accuracy, velocity and distance on every throw.
  • RAPID BREAK-IN LEATHER - Pre-treated leather reduces break-in time for a softer feel and easier grip.
  • PRIME STITCHING - Middle finger and index finger stitching for throwing off-lace, quick release and ball security.
  • ACCURATE CONTROL LACING (ACL) – laces are pebbled instead of smooth and provide more grip in all conditions.
  • SEWN-ON STRIPES – Patented stripes are composite material instead of paint and provide 82% more grip to aid release for more accurate throws.

Best College Football You Can Buy

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this to replace my last Omega Football. The new Omega looks the same but it is a far better football. The material and finish on the ball is so well done. This ball makes throwing spirals easy and much better ball than Nike.

Great Feeling And Great Grip Out The Box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] first time buying a real leather football and it had great grip the weight was amazing on it and th

Flawed Build Quality And No Support By Wilson

Very Disappointed in Wilson and the quality of the ball. We had some issues with the ball spinning correctly if thrown from one direction and upon further inspection the ball was lopsided(apparently came that way) but we never looked at it that closely thinking it was something my son needed to get used to a new ball and breaking it in. Upon contacting Wilson they said it should have been sent back as defective from the start and since we missed the defect 30 day window they wouldn't return it. However, there is a 1 year warranty and they said this doesn't fall under the 1 year warranty. (seems like it should if it was bad quality from the start) For them to tout the Omega as their "premium" ball I would expect a lot more support from Wilson backing their product. After using Wilson's for years, I think we are onto another brand at this point.

Great Ball Bit Spendy.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I cannot comment on the longevity of this ball yet as it is still new, so this is just first impressions. Overall this ball feels amazing out of the box, I did buy it when it was 30% off, if not for the sale I would have probably bought a leather GST. Just in feel between the Omega and the GST I feel the Omega does have better grip and I imagine as it gets more broken in it will be even better. To sum it up, great ball just a bit spendy at full retail.

Good Ball, Looks Bad

The stripes on the ball were stained from the leather dye

Great Football With Great Grip

I bought this a week ago and it has been really good, the more you play with the ball the better it gets

Cool Concept, Poor Execution

Football is fine, but for 50% more than the GST, it's absolutely horrendous. As shown in a million reviews here, the dye they use bleeds like CRAZY. My hands, shorts, shirt, couch, all got covered in pink simply by holding the ball/setting it down. After brushing it/conditioning it per Wilson's instructions, the stripes and laces are completely pink and look laughable. Completely unacceptable to: 1. design a ball that has dye so poorly absorbed by the leather and 2. send this out without warning people that the ball will be pink AND make everything it touches pink, too

Disappointing Leather

Our team bought 3 of these to become our new game balls, but we don't like them at all! The leather is really slick and the pebbling is so pronounced that we find them hard to grip! I understand that the Rapid Break in leather is designed like this, but even after hours of brushing and prepping using the Wilson directions, the footballs are so hard and slick we avoid them! It is a shame that Wilson does not offer the choice of leather as standard, I honestly feel that if they did, no one would opt for the RBI leather! Hopefully they soften in the future after use, but for now we are not using them because we can't grip them.

Won’t Soften

I received my Omega football about 3 weeks ago and I brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed and brushed this football as directed. However this ball is still super hard and uncatchable. I have conditioned this ball with mink oil and football conditioner 4x (over 72 hrs total) still too hard. Also the dye on this ball rubs off as a grape stain on receiver gloves and the tack is horrible even after tacking it.

Great Quality, Worth The Price

My son loved it! Made with high quality materials. Looks great.

This Ball Is Rock Solid

The Omega is Wilson's easiest ball to throw and break in - there's no doubt about that. For a video review, check out my channel on YouTube, Football Reviews, where I've reviewed the Omega twice. First, about the ball pictured - this is the second Omega I've had, sent direct by Wilson, and has gone through the prep recommended on their social channels: brushing, conditioner, wax bar, brushing, tack spray. The color has darkened, and the feel of the ball has improved significantly. I've seen - and had myself - several of the same criticisms some of the other reviewers had, but no longer agree that this ball is substandard, poor quality or otherwise underperforming. The ball is the easiest of all the Wilson balls to throw (GST, GST Prime, Duke, even Adidas Dimes and Vapor Elites do not fly and spin like this does) and the manufacturing quality as far as the white stripes and laces, as well as the stitched inlay quality are all very high. The treatment of the leather, to darken the Horween leather, does bleed a bit on to the stripes, but doesn't affect grip or performance in my opinion. It's also fair to say that the leather is a bit slicker out of the box than other Wilson balls, but after break-in this goes away. If I had to recommend a Wilson ball, this would be it, with the GST Prime in a somewhat distant second - both because it's missing certain features that the Omega has, and because the break in is significantly more complex and lengthy. This is a ball that's worth your time and money. If you have questions, I can be reached via the comment section on the YouTube channel. You may find your question has already been asked and answered, but if not please go ahead and submit a comment - I reply to everyone.

Good Ball

The ball is great it's definitely worth the money if you are willing to spend a good amount

Omega Quality

Not sure why so expensive but materials coming apart and the strips they do not make white it's faded to the color of the ball and the laces feel like plastic stick to the prime much better quality

Solid Football - When It Works. Poor Construction

I bought this football just over a year ago. We own two GST, one prime, one Omega, one official UCLA Wilson NCAA ball gifted from a QB, and a Nike Vapor Elite. This ball feels a little heavier in hand, spins well as advertised. But in football the beat ability is availability, every time we pull this ball out of the bag it is about 80% inflated. We pump it up and use it for a bit and it fails to properly hold air. It is disappointing because I bought it for my son as a birthday present and I was anted him to like it, and at first he did. But now it is just useless. After being a lifelong Wilson guy, with multiple sons who play QB this is the one product from them that I have found both underwhelming and deeply disappointing. Mind you we probably have logged maybe 400-500 total throws before this product failed and there are no obvious rips, scratches, or tears. Completely intact. Maybe a bladder or valve issue. Perhaps they corrected it. Actually really disappointed with my purchase and not at all what I have come to expect from Wilson.

Red Stripes

The ball has good grip and breaks in easily but the stripes get this red stain from the leather which makes the stripes look weird.
