In the last few years ive gamed callaway apex, titleist ap1 718 and ap3 718, cobra king forged tec, mizuno 921 hm pros, pxg 0311p (close 2nd to the d9forged). I tell everyone I meet/play with that these are by far the best clubs ive played.Love them

I'm a lifelong Mizuno fan who has recently left my MP-14s to get something a little bit more forgiving and distance to make up for my loss in flexibility and strength from age. Tried a bunch of the players distance irons including the Pro 225, JPX923, i500/i525/i530, i230, Kirkland player's irons, TM 790. The only ones I thought were close were the T100 in terms of looks, feel, turf interaction, but the D9 had better distances. I keep thinking I need to be loyal to Mizuno, but these are just so good.

After playing Mizunos for the past 13 years, and feeling I could use a bit of a "refresh," I looked into Wilson. I remembered Wilson clubs from when I was a boy when they were winning a lot of championships. I went online and saw that they support us veterans with generous discounts and bought a D9 Driver. I also bought some Wilson Staff CB irons, but gave them to a guest so he could golf with me. When it was time to buy my irons, I realized my swing speed has slowed since I'm now in my early '70's. I play to a 15hci and am not long, but have a very decent short game. After much thought I custom ordered the D9 irons 6-GW. After playing them for 2 months, and 20 rounds, I can report that these irons are the real deal. I play the Wilson Staff ball in the summer and the Triad in wetter months. From the gorgeous chrome look (old school baby!) to the look at address with the relatively thin top line, these irons just scream..."hit me!" After dialing these in, I am 2-3 yards longer than my old JPX 825s. The D9s are very accurate. I ordered custom with KBS Max Ultralite steel shafts (I went to graphite the last 15 years), standard length, loft and 2*up lie. I feel so confident hitting these irons now. They are deadly accurate and what I'm so please with is that the heavier steel shafts (though light for steel), keep me on swing plane and give me the loft on my shots that I had lost over the years due to slower swing speed. I love these irons! I may actually add a 5 iron because I've been using the Wilson D9 5 Hybrid and as easy and accurate as they are as well, I just love hitting irons and may just leave the 5 Hybrid at home for a while. Anyway, I now have a full set of Wilson D9 driver, D9 5 Wood, D9 4 and 5 Hybrid and D9 6-GW. Wilson 56* and 60* HT wedges. I love my Odyssey OG 7 Bird putter and I rarely miss inside of 5' anymore. However, I know that the Wilson Inifinito Buckingham putter (which is similar to my Odyssey) is also well rated, so I may go to that one over the winter and shoot all Wilson products. I like supporting any company that supports us veterans and will give them my business for the rest of my life. Oh, and Wilson quality, service and "looks" are as good as any Titleist, Mizuno or Ping I've played in the past. Great job Wilson! Keep up the good work!

too early for a genuine review as i've only played two rounds with them. still getting used to the distances of each club. so far/so good, though.

Had a custom fit session, trying P770, P790, Paradigm, Apex Pros, i525 and the D9 Forged. The D9s felt easy to swing, with a soft feel. For someone approaching 60, the D9 delivered good feel and ball speeds >120mph giving distances for the 7-iron of around 175yrds+. Wow. Coming from a background of wonderful Wilson FG49 Tour blades and a prior near scratch handicap in my mid 20s, these clubs are already suggesting that I’ll be back to old standards in the near future. Clubs look great, albeit clearly not as thin as my old blades, and sound pitch perfect.

I watched the Alex Etches video on YT with his review and it made me interested. Then I watched every other YT video on them and was convinced to try them. Tested next to a ZX5, T200, i525, P790 and 770. 770 was great but these just perpetuated confidence behind the ball and they felt great. I was thinking about the CBs, which are amazing, but I wanted a little more help going forward as life gets busier and they were the right choice. Butterishly soft, great control, huge bag appeal, and great price. My mid irons are hitting the green softly with maximum 5-6 feet of roll out from 145-185 out. You can go wrong with Wilson as of late.

I am a mid-teen handicap, and play 4-6 rounds a month. I have had these clubs for about 6 months now, and couldn’t be happier with the purchase! I tested many other clubs during an iron fitting, and had settled on the Taylormade P-790s, but after seeing reviews and videos in comparing the D9 Forged vs the p-790s, and being a Wilson club owner before, I decided to give the D9s a shot. Unboxing, the D9s are beautiful and I get many compliments from people in play with and suggest them to anyone looking for a new set of clubs. Playing wise, they feel great! I can tell instantly how well I struck the ball, and the longer irons do have a bit more forgiveness and launch that I enjoy. I have the True Temper 105 shafts and the balance is awesome. For those looking for a new set of irons, but are on the fence, you will not be disappointed!

I’ve gone through 4-5 sets of irons in the last few years and finally found “my” set. The D9s feel absolutely amazing, are super forgiving for a players distance iron and look amazing too. They’re also priced well under their competitors and imo are a better product. I don’t think I’ll ever stray from Wilson irons.

Just want to say after playing may for irons these irons are every bit as good as any of the higher priced forged irons out there in my opinion. Great feel, great distance, distance control, stopping power( with the Dynamic Gold 105) . Great gapping. I have 5-gap wedge. Nice top line as well. Started playing staff tour blades in the late 70’s and now I’m back to Wilson!

I bought these on a whim when MyGolfSpy.com rated them the 2nd best players distance iron. I was unhappy with my PXG Gen 4 players irons and Ping i59s. I had custom set of Mizuno 225s also as I struggled to find an iron to replace my Ping i210s. With 3 sets in my bag it only took 2 full practice rounds on the course to determine the Wilsons were the best. They feel fantastic, and the performance is amazing. One overlooked aspect of an iron is the ability to chip with them. The Mizuno irons make an awful sound, the Pings felt dead, and the Gen 4s lacked control and feel. The Wilsons are outstanding around the green. I will be buying a back-up set to store for future use. Another mention here is the tour sole grinds on Staff Forged Wedges are amazing....crazy versatility. Don't overlook this iron. I play off scratch if that helps anyone. I've found my irons for years to come.

I've played a few rounds with these now and they are everything as advertised: long, accurate, with a soft forged feel. I can see why MyGolfSpy has them as the #2 most desired players distance iron.

Had mine for a month now and I keep loving them more! Incredible mix of soft forge feel and distance! There is nothing these clubs can’t do! I won’t be changing irons for a long while!

Have my D9 forged since 6 weeks right now. More or less stock configuration, just different grips, the originals are really thin. I had the chance to try them out at a demo day next to the major brands of the market. I was impressed from the sales representatives and how the iron feels in direct comparison to the others. I had very good results with other products from others at that day as well, but for much more cost. I am happy with my iron set and I am also happy to save some cash for a new Fairway metal.

If ever there was a iron that ticked all the boxes, the D9 forged passed with flying colors! Looks,Feel, and performance in aces. Oh, and forgiveness is dang good. Good enough that this old 70 year old can play them with no issues at all. Thank you Wilson!

I got my custom ordered D9's forged irons last Friday. I must say I am totally impressed! These clubs are just as long or longer than my Titliest AP1's and the dispersion is incredible. Oh yeah, the feel of a forged iron.. it has been many years since I felt that sweetness! If you are in the market for a new set of irons, don't pass up an opportunity to give these a test drive!
