About This Item
D9 FORGED IRONS
Designed using a generative process that compares hundreds of Power Hole layouts
Combine the nuanced feel of a forged head with higher launch angles for incredible stopping power and pinpoint accuracy
Power Holes 2.0 layout is an asymmetrical design biased towards the heel side of the face that opens the entire face to deliver higher ball speeds
Lower CG provides a higher launch in the longer irons for ideal performance on long shots. This increases peak trajectory heights and improves descent angle for stopping power into the green
Forged 8620 construction and Urethane Power Chamber offers exceptional feel, while the thin topline and minimal offsets appeal to the eye of the better player
I'm a lifelong Mizuno fan who has recently left my MP-14s to get something a little bit more forgiving and distance to make up for my loss in flexibility and strength from age. Tried a bunch of the players distance irons including the Pro 225, JPX923, i500/i525/i530, i230, Kirkland player's irons, TM 790. The only ones I thought were close were the T100 in terms of looks, feel, turf interaction, but the D9 had better distances. I keep thinking I need to be loyal to Mizuno, but these are just so good.

Superb! Gorgeous! Sniper-accurate!
After playing Mizunos for the past 13 years, and feeling I could use a bit of a "refresh," I looked into Wilson. I remembered Wilson clubs from when I was a boy when they were winning a lot of championships. I went online and saw that they support us veterans with generous discounts and bought a D9 Driver. I also bought some Wilson Staff CB irons, but gave them to a guest so he could golf with me. When it was time to buy my irons, I realized my swing speed has slowed since I'm now in my early '70's. I play to a 15hci and am not long, but have a very decent short game. After much thought I custom ordered the D9 irons 6-GW. After playing them for 2 months, and 20 rounds, I can report that these irons are the real deal. I play the Wilson Staff ball in the summer and the Triad in wetter months. From the gorgeous chrome look (old school baby!) to the look at address with the relatively thin top line, these irons just scream..."hit me!" After dialing these in, I am 2-3 yards longer than my old JPX 825s. The D9s are very accurate. I ordered custom with KBS Max Ultralite steel shafts (I went to graphite the last 15 years), standard length, loft and 2*up lie. I feel so confident hitting these irons now. They are deadly accurate and what I'm so please with is that the heavier steel shafts (though light for steel), keep me on swing plane and give me the loft on my shots that I had lost over the years due to slower swing speed. I love these irons! I may actually add a 5 iron because I've been using the Wilson D9 5 Hybrid and as easy and accurate as they are as well, I just love hitting irons and may just leave the 5 Hybrid at home for a while. Anyway, I now have a full set of Wilson D9 driver, D9 5 Wood, D9 4 and 5 Hybrid and D9 6-GW. Wilson 56* and 60* HT wedges. I love my Odyssey OG 7 Bird putter and I rarely miss inside of 5' anymore. However, I know that the Wilson Inifinito Buckingham putter (which is similar to my Odyssey) is also well rated, so I may go to that one over the winter and shoot all Wilson products. I like supporting any company that supports us veterans and will give them my business for the rest of my life. Oh, and Wilson quality, service and "looks" are as good as any Titleist, Mizuno or Ping I've played in the past. Great job Wilson! Keep up the good work!

Look As Good As They Feel
too early for a genuine review as i've only played two rounds with them. still getting used to the distances of each club. so far/so good, though.

Wilson Are Back
Had a custom fit session, trying P770, P790, Paradigm, Apex Pros, i525 and the D9 Forged. The D9s felt easy to swing, with a soft feel. For someone approaching 60, the D9 delivered good feel and ball speeds >120mph giving distances for the 7-iron of around 175yrds+. Wow. Coming from a background of wonderful Wilson FG49 Tour blades and a prior near scratch handicap in my mid 20s, these clubs are already suggesting that I’ll be back to old standards in the near future. Clubs look great, albeit clearly not as thin as my old blades, and sound pitch perfect.

Butterishly Soft
I watched the Alex Etches video on YT with his review and it made me interested. Then I watched every other YT video on them and was convinced to try them. Tested next to a ZX5, T200, i525, P790 and 770. 770 was great but these just perpetuated confidence behind the ball and they felt great. I was thinking about the CBs, which are amazing, but I wanted a little more help going forward as life gets busier and they were the right choice. Butterishly soft, great control, huge bag appeal, and great price. My mid irons are hitting the green softly with maximum 5-6 feet of roll out from 145-185 out. You can go wrong with Wilson as of late.
