Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winn Excel Oversized Consistancy I've used the Winn Excel Oversized grip for the last 45 years. It remains tacky the longest unlike most of the higher priced brands, and has the consistency to really make me feel secure and confident with every swing. I have big hands so the oversized is perfect with an added layer of tape - in addition being a "seasoned citizen" now, the oversized makes it easier to grip in all weather conditions. A teaching Pro I once used told me that oversized grips have the ability to lessen the possibility of snap hooking the ball - so you've got everything to gain and nothing to lose!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sticky This is the second time I have used Winn Excel RF Midsize Grips. I had them installed by a club fitter last year and so liked them that I had Dick's install them on new clubs and refresh my driver. I did notice on my driver that the left side near the top was wearing down, I'm unsure it that was caused by my club bag or by my method of gripping the clubs. I'll watch that this year. The grips stayed tacky throughout the entire season of playing 2-3 times per week, and were excellent in light rain. They will stay my grips of choice unless something MUCH better comes along. The midsize grip allows me to grip the club lighter than I did previously, and is more comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My "Go-To" grip Had this grip put onto my new King Cobra 3/4 it would match my other clubs. I have ham hands and my grip needs to be built up with 2 layers of tape first and then an oversized grip. The Winn Excel grips have never failed me, even after dozens of rounds. Normally I re-grip every two seasons. The Winn's are always there and always tacky. No getting slippery and no usage compression like I got from some Lamkin grips. Can't get by the Winn's. They're fantastic!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from soft feel equals light grip The softness of this grip allows me to relax my hands on the club and avoid tightening up thru the swing. It seems like the club shaft becomes an extension of my forearms because my hands sink into the foam padding on the grip thus eliminating the need to intensify my grip pressure in the striking position. My tempo is kept in rhythm with this seemingly minor and inexpensive equipment upgrade. My scores have come down from 18 handicap to 11.5 because I am hitting more greens in regulation since making the change several years ago. Every new club I add to my bag gets these larger, softer grips.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winn grip offers great feel I've been re-gripping my own clubs for about five years now and I've settled on the Winn Excel in midsize as my favorite. The outer bound layer has a soft feel that makes it more comfortable to grip. The only down side to the soft feel is that it's harder to manipulate the club in your hands mid-swing. If you are a "handsy" player and like to work the club these might be too soft for you, however if you are a higher handicap golfer (such as myself) with one swing motion then these grips will work great. One word of caution; when applying these grips they have a tendency to stretch on the shaft. Use consistent application pressure when doing multiple clubs or you will end up with inconsistent grip feel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from New grips for old clubs A friend convinced me that instead of buying new irons, I should re-grip the Cleveland TA-4's that I hit so well. Since I like the feel of a wrap-style grip, the Winn Excel RF Midsize Grip has the features I was looking for. Namely, that is a low shine, moderately tacky and comfortable in the hand grip. Installation was relatively easy, even for someone who has never re-gripped a club before. For consistency, I replaced the grips on every club in my bag, even my brand new Taylor Made Rocket Balls Stage 2 driver and 3 wood, Cleveland Mashie hybrid 3, and a couple new Cleveland wedges. After 1 session on the range, I love the feel of these new grips, and am looking forward to their first use on the course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Playing golf with arthritic hands Recently I was diagnosed with arthritus & carpal tunnal in both my hands & wrists.I love to golf so through the aid and advice of Kelly King of Dick's Sporting Goods in Jefferson City, MO we chose to re-grip all my clubs with the Winn® Excel RF Oversize Golf Grip. Doing this has helped me immensly in being more comfortable with my golf swing. I really appreciate Dick's having a golf pro in house to help in selecting golf equipment. Kelly helps me in many ways with my golf game. I would recommend these grips to anyone who is suffering with hand & wrists issues.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Really Disappointing Went to the Tuttle Crossing Golf Galaxy looking for the Tan Oversize Wynn W-7 Grips that I installed on my clubs a year or so ago. Those were great grips and I wanted to get another set. The young man at their repair desk told me those were discontinued and pointed me to the "new" W-7 Wynn Black Grips. Looked and felt the same so I bought a set at $7.49 per grip. When I installed them, two of the grips separated along the seams and upon closer inspection several of them actually had started coming apart but didn't completely tear. Adding to my disappointment, the first round I played was at an outing during a "rainy" day and these grips had zero adhesion when wet - none, zip, nada!!! I can't tell you how disappointing these have been.
