Excellent Value

I’ve been tying for years on an entry level vice and decided it was time for an upgrade. After much research of mid to high end (price) vices, I settled on the Wolff Atlas and I’m glad I did! Not only is it made in America, but offers an excellent value both in terms of features and cost. Full rotary, desk top or clamp on, range of hook sizes are just some of the fantastic features. Thrilled with my selection.

Fly Tying Vise On Steroids

I have owned my Anvil Apex vise for 2 years now. I toured the factory in Southern Indiana before buying my vise. Every single piece is carefully precision made there. I lovingly call my vise, "My Fly Tying Vise on Steroids". There is not another vise out there made quite like the Anvil Apex. The pedestal holds the vise steady. The clamp also is one of the best in the industry. If you enjoy tying flies you owe it to yourself to give the Apex a try.

A Decade Of Great Use!

I've had my Atlas vise for about 10 years and was happy to see Field & Stream is carrying it. I'd buy this vise again tomorrow if anything went wrong with mine. I was a beginner when I bought it and have advanced to being a pretty decent tier, I suppose, but there's been no need to upgrade. Good control and flexibility for both larger and smaller hooks...might take a moment or two to really dial it in when going from streamer to midge hooks. Collapses nicely into several pieces for transport. I've only used the pedestal base so I can't speak to the clamp base. Great vise!
